On Friday Apple started preparing the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, California for the long-awaited iPhone 5 event that will be taking place this Wednesday. Journalists will pile into the venue to watch Tim Cook and company unveil the next iPhone and other surprises. Per tradition, Apple has begun putting up larger banners outside of Yerba Buena the weekend before the event.
We stopped by Yerba Buena to get a look at the signage Apple is putting up. Check out more on-location shots from Yerba Buena in our gallery below.

Apple is obviously expecting a decent crowd Wednesday, as lines and lines of velvet rope are at the ready.

The main banner itself is definitely colorful, but it doesn’t reveal much of anything. The rainbow-ish design looks a whole lot like the third-gen iPad signage from earlier this year, but the previous banner featured a huge eyeball (a hint at the newest iPad’s Retina display).
Stay tuned to Cult of Mac for more coverage leading up to and during Apple’s big event next week.

I have heard some people say that the reason this “colorful” display isn’t for the iPod releases or anything like that, but in regards to the iPhone itself being taller. On the left side of the apple logo you see purple and white, looks to be a stretched out iTunes app, and on the other side looks like a stretched out music app, alone with a game center app, as if the home screen itself has been stretched out to pretty much say a longer, taller iPhone (5). Although, a longer and wider iPhone will suit me best, but I personally can’t wait either way.
It’s curtains I think.
I wonder if that means the iPhone will be available in more colors now…
People have been saying it’s curtains for Apple for years…
Maybe it’s about the 8 colors of new nano’s, but i still doubt it because the focus will be on the iphone.

Pretty sure that suspended Apply logo inside is actually a logo painted or affixed to the wall.
Perhaps the iPhone will be offered in more colors other than white or black.

Doubt it. It’s always been three colors in regards to the size of the iPhone. White. Black. iPod touch silver.
The iPods with no Internet abilities are the rainbow colors.
Watch out Apple!!
The satellite TV truck is actually Samsung! Look at their logo!
