Satechi’s Dual Dock Stand packs in an unusual number of features. It’s a nine-port USB-C hub, and also an NVMe SSD enclosure. And it’s designed to prop up a MacBook for easier typing.
The multifunction MacBook accessory launched Thursday.
New MacBook stand is also a multiport hub and SSD Enclosure
Space is at a premium on many people’s desks. That’s the advantage of having peripherals that handle more than one task. The Satechi Dual Dock Stand takes that to an extreme.
First off, it’s a USB-C hub with two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort. MacBooks that support multiple additional monitors can connect up to two external displays at 4K and 60Hz.
There are five USB ports, with one of the three USB-C ports and one of the two USB-A ports supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2 for 10Gbps data transfers. Another USB-C port supports 75W PD for recharging the MacBook.
On the bottom of the Satechi Dual Dock Stand is an SSD Enclosure. NVMe SSDs support up to 10Gbps transfers, while SATA SSDs top out at 6Gbps.
All of this goes into an accessory that fits under the back edge of a MacBook. A built-in cable with two USB-C connectors plugs into the notebook — either macOS or many Windows models.
Launch day
Satechi Dual Dock Stand is now available with a price tag of $149.99. But there’s a 20% off deal until August 24. Use code NVME20.

There are many multiport USB-C docks on the market. What really sets this one apart is the built-in SSD enclosure.
