Ugreen’s latest multiport docking station — sporting nine ports for most workstation connectivity needs — is helpful in several ways, including if you want to extend an M1 MacBook’s external-display capacity from one to two.

The device also offers 100 watts fast charging plus fast file transfer via USB-A and USB-C ports.

Ugreen 9-in-1 USB-C Docking Station

Ugreen’s new 9-in-1 dock is a slim device that looks like it would be useful in various computer setups. It helps connect a variety of peripherals, transfers data at 10Gbps rates and helps keep cables directed to one place.

But it also has the big benefit of solving the problem of limited external displays with certain Apple silicon MacBooks. The machines easily add one external display, but that’s it.

In order to easily add two, you need to add a device like this one, with its DisplayLink technology. It handles two 4K displays running at 60Hz in either extended or mirror modes.

The new docking station has an impressive array of ports:

  • 2 HDMI 4K ports
  • 2 DisplayPort 4K
  • 1 Power Delivery 3.0 100W
  • 2 USB-A 3.2 ports at up to 10Gbps transfer speeds
  • 1 USB-C 3.2 at up to 10Gbps transfer speeds
  • 1 gigabit ethernet port

As with its other products, Ugreen touts the new dock’s safety features, noting it stays cools thanks to several measures.
