Fans weren’t bothered by an extra-long wait for Ted Lasso‘s third season. The season premiere brought a tidal wave of viewers, pushing Apple TV+ back to near the top of the ratings charts.

And Shrinking, another Apple TV+ comedy, is finishing its freshman season with strong viewership.

Ted Lasso is still pulling in plenty of eyes

The previous season of Ted Lasso wrapped up in October 2021, so fans were left hanging for nearly a year and half before the new season finally hit Apple TV+ earlier this month. But they apparently didn’t lose interest in the hit comedy.

Movie and TV search engine JustWatch put the series in the No. 2 spot on its list of most-viewed streaming series during the week of March 13 through March 19. Rival ratings company Reelgood put the Apple TV+ show at No. 4 on its list of Top 10 Movies & TV available from every streaming service during the week of March 16 through March 22.

For comparison, more people watch Ted Lasso on Apple TV+ than The Mandalorian on Disney+.

Take note: This is almost definitely the final season of the show, so enjoy it while it lasts.

For those who’ve been living under a rock, Ted Lasso stars Jason Sudeikis as an American football coach hired to manage a British soccer team, despite being completely unfamiliar with the sport. But what he lacks in knowledge, he makes up for with optimism, underdog determination — and biscuits.

The show’s radical optimism quickly made it beloved by audiences (as well as a critics’ darling). The show won back-to-back Emmys for outstanding comedy. And it racked up a whopping 40 Emmy noms.

Ted Lasso is available now on Apple’s streaming service. Watching comes with a $6.99-per-month subscription.

Shrinking continues months of success

The first season of Apple TV+ comedy Shrinking stayed near the top of the streaming charts after its January debut. The final episode aired this week, and it’s going out strong.

JustWatch put it in the No. 5 spot on its list of most-viewed streaming series during the week of March 16 through March 22.

The series, which stars Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, is about a psychotherapist who throws out the rulebook and tells his clients what he really thinks they should do.

Shrinking also comes with the $6.99-per-month subscription to Apple TV+. The entire first season is ready to be streamed. And there are many other comedies likeMythic Quest, Schmigadoon!, The Afterparty, Central Park and Bad Sisters.

Apple doesn’t announce how many people watch its various shows, so it’s up to outside sources like Reelgood and JustWatch to reveal what viewers are streaming.
