Apple is once again bundling a $50 gift card with the purchase of the Apple TV. The company first ran this promotion on its U.S. online store from July 1 through July 14.

This time, Apple is running the promotion in the U.S., UK, some European countries and Australia. And in typical Apple fashion, the company took down its website for a few hours before making this promotion live.

Apple brings back the $50 Apple TV gift card offer

Apple TV’s gift card promotion runs through August 1-15. The terms and conditions remain the same as before. You get a $50 gift card if you buy the Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD. This is irrespective of whether it is the 32GB or 64GB variant. Purchases made through Apple’s online store are eligible for the promotion. Individual customers are limited to two units per account.

In the U.K., customers will get a £40 gift card with their purchase. In European countries like France, Spain, Italy, Germany and others, the company is bundling a €50 gift card.

Apple TV HD retails for $149, while the 4K version sells for $179, making it more expensive than the competition. Apple’s promotion helps make the streaming box a bit more affordable. But that’s only if you intend to buy more of the company’s products or services in the near future.

You can use the card for purchasing anything from Apple, including Macs, iPhones, App Store purchases, iCloud storage space and subscription services.

Powerful new Apple TV could launch soon

It is rare for Apple to bundle gift cards or officially discount its products. But stock buildup due to weakening consumer demand and the lockdown in China has seemingly led to a change in strategy. The Cupertino giant recently ran a promotion in China, offering hefty discounts on iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and AirPods.

The company is running this Apple TV promotional offer to clear inventory before it possibly unveils a new model later this year. The next-gen Apple TV could pack a more powerful A14 Bionic chip and 4GB RAM.
