It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown will have its Apple TV+ debut on March 26, slightly more than a week before Easter itself. It’s the return of a Peanuts classic from a long hiatus.

In 2020, Apple’s streaming service became the new home of all the Peanuts holiday specials, including this one. And more are being created.

Charles M. Schulz’s Easter special premiered in 1974 and should be familiar to every fan of Snoopy and the gang. Peppermint Patty struggles to teach Marcie how to decorate eggs, while Snoopy buys a birdhouse for Woodstock. And Linus convinces Sally that she doesn’t need to color eggs because the Easter Beagle will bring them.

The return of the Peanuts Easter Beagle

It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown will become available to stream early on Friday, March 26.

Last year, the Peanuts Halloween and Christmas specials were available for all, and the Christmas one was even broadcast on PBS. That’s not happening with the Easter special — only Apple TV+ subscribers will be able to watch. But the special hasn’t been regularly broadcast on network TV in more than a decade, and hasn’t been on TV at all since 2014. So Apple is not interfering with a holiday tradition, it’s reviving one.

The Peanuts gang has a home with Apple TV+

This is the return of more than just the Easter Beagle. Throughout the year, Apple TV+ will run each of the classic Peanuts specials at appropriate times. And it’s not stopping there — Apple is making more in collaboration with WildBrain’s animation studio.

Plus, the streaming service recently debuted The Snoopy Show, which puts the focus on Charlie Brown’s irrepressible beagle. It has an 100% positive critics’ score on RottenTomatoes and a 100% audience score too. The first six episodes are available to stream now.
