Satechi on Tuesday took the wraps off an aluminum stand that makes use of the magnets Apple built into the iPhone 12. It elevates the handset while charging it, making the screen easier to see. The stand also includes an AirPods charger.
The iPhone charging pad is set on an adjustable ball mount that allows users to move and tilt their device to a variety of angles. The base is made of aluminum and the stand is stainless steel.
Although it takes advantage of the magnets that are part the new MagSafe system built into the iPhone 12 series, Satechi did not make this product fully MagSafe complaint. So it offers a maximum of 10 watts of power, though it can only sent 7.5W to iPhones.
Under the iPhone charger is a pad to power AirPods Pro or any other Apple headphones with wireless charging cases at up to 5W.
The Satechi Aluminum 2-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand launched Tuesday on its designer’s website for $59.99. Receive a 20% off using the code “MAGNETIC” at checkout until February 15.
Rivals have had the same idea. Anker launched a similar 2-in-1 stand several days ago. And Belkin unveiled a MagSafe-compatible one on Monday.
