The wait is over for iCloud folder sharing… at least for everyone willing to install the initial iOS 13.4 public beta or its iPad equivalent. And there’s new Memoji stickers, tablet users can remap some keys, plus some other new features to experiment with.
iCloud folder sharing for iPhone and iPad
With a beta of iOS 13.4 or iPad 13.4, users can share a folder on iCloud Drive with friends or co-workers. It’s a collaboration feature that’s long been available to other cloud-storage products. And it’s one Apple originally scheduled to debut last fall. But the wait is over.
Plus, in iPadOS 13.4 beta, you can finally remap modifier keys. That makes it much easier to use keyboards designed for PCs with an iPad.
In addition, there are quite a few new Memoji stickers. These take popular emojis and let the user personalize the person shown. There’s Party Horn, Rolling Ryes, Person Behind a Computer, and more

These stickers are always sent as images, so they can be texted to anyone, not just other users running a pre-release iOS 13.4 version.
But wait, there’s more
Other new features aren‘t available to beta testers. Buried in the code of the iOS 13.4 beta are reportedly references to a CarKey API. This is supposedly intended to allow Apple devices to do everything car keys can do.
And there’s also mention of a new Apple TV 4K.

Anyone who’s feeling adventurous can sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program and download the latest pre-release versions of the next iPhone or iPad operating system now. It’s free and not overly complicated.
Just be cautious. It’s virtually certain these contain new bugs as Apple works its way toward a regular release.
