It’s Friday, which means that the weekend is almost here, and — more important — new episodes of the top Apple TV+ shows are up.
The Morning Show Episode 5 is titled “No One’s Gonna Harm You, Not While I’m Around.” According to the preview, it revolves around a looming article that threatens to upend the show-within-a-show’s power structure.
Meanwhile, Episode 5 of See is titled “Plastic.” The official preview reads: “As Tamacti Jun’s army nears Baba and family, Maghra’s past comes to light.”
Finally, Episode 5 of For All Mankind is called “Into the Abyss.” “Ed and the crew change Apollo 15’s landing site after lunar ice is detected,” notes the episode summary.
Rolling out new Apple TV+ episodes gradually
Unlike Netflix, Apple TV+ is rolling out its flagship original shows gradually. It debuted three episodes up top to get people into them. However, since then it is debuting one new installment a week to keep fans tuning in. Both For All Mankind and The Morning Show will have 10 episodes in their first seasons. See has just eight. All three shows have already been renewed for a second season.
Interestingly, Apple isn’t taking this approach with all its content. Apple TV+ debuted the entire season of Dickinson at once. Apple also released multiple episodes of its kids’ shows Helpsters, Ghostwriter and Snoopy in Space all in one go.
Disney seems to be taking the strategy of rolling out shows gradually with its Disney+ streaming service, too. Shows like The Mandalorian are also debuting one episode at a time. With the streaming landscape more crowded than ever, the idea is to try and avoid the churn of having users sign up, watch every episode of a show, and then unsubscribe.
