The long wait for Apple’s AR future is finally over.

iOS 11 has just been released to the public today after a record-breaking beta testing period and it’s packed with a host of new features that will make your iPhone and iPad feel like new.

iPhone and iPad owners can download iOS 11 by going to going to the Software Update section in the settings app. You can also install it via iTunes if you have a Mac or PC and enjoy torturing yourself.

What’s new in iOS 11

With iOS 11 Apple is turning the iPhone and iPad the biggest augmented reality platform in the world thanks to ARKit. The API allows third-party developers to create a host of new apps that overlay information and graphics onto real world via your iPhone screen.

Apple has also made tons of other improvements to the UI of the iPhone and iPad. Control Center has been updated with customizable buttons. Siri is smarter than ever and speaks more naturally. The Notes app is more dynamic. And there’s now a new Files app that helps you keep everything organized.

iPad owners will reap the biggest benefits from iOS 11. The update finally makes Apple’s tablets feel like true PC replacements. Drag-and-drop makes working with multiple apps at the same time a breeze. Split View and Side View got some big improvements too.

Does anyone know the steps to do a clean install of iOS 11?

    • Go into settings…general…reset and erase everything before you install. Make sure thats what you want to do. Doing a clean install wipes out everything on your device before the installation.
