A video has gone viral online showing a man complaining after ordering a cheap iPad Air 2 online for $100 — only to discover that it is actually an overpriced piece of tin, complete with a printed iPad home screen on the front, and Apple sticker on the reverse.

What is it that they say about offers which appear too good to be true? You can check out the video below.

Believe it or not, this isn’t the craziest story we’ve heard this year about people scamming victims out of money for supposed Apple products. Recently, a would-be customer was tricked out of $750 when they were approached on the street with what appeared to be a new iPhone — but turned out to be a bag of sugar.

In another instance, an iPad buyer was fooled into buying a box of potatoes, while in yet another a Detroit business bought several “iPhones” from a group of three Detroit-area teenagers — only to discover that they were iPhone boxes filled with Play-Doh bricks instead of smartphones.

At least the man in this latest video learned something, though. “Never buy a cheap iPad,” he wrote online when posting the original video. “Or you may get burned as well.”

Truer words were never spoken.
