Not many Brits watch "Ted Lasso," but it's not necessarily for reasons of taste. Photo: Apple TV+
The smash-hit Apple TV+ comedy Ted Lasso is set in greater London. It’s about the unlikely coach of a fictional team in England’s (and the world’s) top soccer league, which is England’s (and the world’s) favorite sport. So why don’t Brits actually watch the show?
No, it’s not some disconnect between American and British humor. The real reason has more to do with adoption of the streaming service itself. And some people blame Apple TV+ for that.

It's hard to root for a kid who's this selfish, TBH. Photo: Apple TV+
Trauma-focused Apple TV+ series Dear Edward has even more reckoning to do this week.
First, Adriana gets into hot water with the two men in her life, even as her election looms. Then Lacey and Edward both get rejected, right when they need support the most.
Dee Dee is having housing issues. And Steve and Amanda need some space, as do Shay and Mahira. And frankly, so do I. This frustrating show just keeps on going to uninspired, unearned places.

How do you tell an exciting sports story when there's not much going on? Photo: Apple TV+
New Apple TV+ sports documentary Real Madrid: Until the End chronicles one of the world’s most popular football clubs during a treacherous 2021 and 2022 comeback season.
Missing their star striker, reuniting with an old coach, dealing with their best player’s injuries … there are many hurdles for the team to overcome. This three-part series won’t play particularly well for people who aren’t already invested in the fortunes of Real Madrid. But it proves fairly informative and entertaining even to the layman.

That’s when FiiO quietly launched its R7 high-resolution audio player, streamer and headphone amplifier. It packs a lot of functionality into a small package you might expect to cost more than it does.
iPhone 14 Plus should go. Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac
The iPhone 14 Plus isn’t selling well, and the same was true for the model it replaced, the iPhone 13 mini. With that in mind, it seems reasonable for Apple reduce the number of product lines it offers.
There are currently five iPhone models in production. Dropping to four would benefit the company and its customers.

MagSafe makes this fast, affordable charger extremely convenient. Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac
The Twelve South Forté turns Apple’s MagSafe iPhone charging puck into a stand. So rather than your handset lying flat on a table, it’s held up so you can more easily see the display. And the elevated charging mat swivels so you can pick your viewing angle for watching video or making FaceTime calls.
I put the Forté to use in my home office. Here’s what it’s like to use in real life.
This top-rated Mac app connects all your cloud drives and can help you avoid lost files. Photo: Cult of Mac Deals
Where do you store all your files? Chances are, they’re spread across multiple devices, accounts and cloud storage drives. That probably also means that searching for the exact file you need can take way more time than it should. And, if you’re unlucky, it could even lead to losing important documents.
To safely manage all your cloud storage accounts in one place, try CloudMounter. Typically $44.99, you can grab a lifetime license for your Mac right now for only $19.99.

Everybody talks about the cloud, and clearly that kind of storage isn’t going anywhere. And though cloud storage is all the rage, sometimes the old ways are best. It’s a good idea to have a flash drive around just in case. And if you haven’t looked into a new one lately, you should know that they’ve come a long way, both in terms of looks and capacity.
One particularly great example is this minimalist aluminum flash drive. It’s capable of holding 64GB of data in a unit you can always have on you. Even better, it’s now on sale for only $14.99 (regularly $19.99).

A tiny charger that can push 20W+ to two devices is pretty potent. Photo: Anker
Anker introduced a new potent-but-weenie little GaN charger to it lineup Wednesday, the Anker 47W Nano 3. It packs more power than the company’s 30W Nano chargers, adds a most-welcome second USB-C port and comes in three colors.
And it also comes with a 15% off launch discount — $34 instead of the regular $40, a savings of $6.

If you have a compact, portable stand, you can turn your MacBook or iPad into a proper workstation almost anywhere. Function101 offers the Elevate stand, now on sale in the Cult of Mac Store.
It folds flat to store or carry and folds out to four positions more maximum typing comfort, with or without an external keyboard.
Mounted devices make for a space-saving triple-display setup. Photo: [email protected]
The sometimes-overlooked heroes of computer setups are stands and mounts. They make a big difference. They free-up space on the desk. They bring screens to eye level for better ergonomics. And they can even help turn a one-display setup into a three-display workstation, as they do in today’s featured MacBook Pro and iPad mini rig.
The user relies on one main external monitor — a Studio Display — but raising the MacBook and the iPad up to eye level and using Universal Control gives him three prominent screens. And that’s without having to buy and make room for multiple external monitors.

Golfing like you're at the Masters has never been easier than with the TruGolf Mini golf simulator, now on sale for just $199.99. Photo: Cult of Mac Deals
The upcoming Masters Tournament is a lot of things: a nail-biting chance to watch the world’s best golfers at the top of their game, a love letter to one of the finest courses in the United States, and perhaps the most exciting event of the year for golf lovers.
It can also be a huge source of inspiration to get out and hit the green yourself. And that can be a real bummer if the weather is still bad where you live. Luckily, at-home golf simulation technology has come a long way. Case in point: the TruGolf Mini.

The company said customers can access spatial audio on Apple Music via the Era 300 and two older Sonos speaker systems starting in three weeks — Tuesday, March 28 (the new speakers’ shipping date).
Want your AirPods Max headphones to keep looking like they did the day you bought them? Try Elago's clear case. Photo: Elago
Apple’s AirPods Max are premium wireless noise-cancelling headphones, and they don’t come cheap ($549). So shouldn’t you protect those top-shelf cans like you protect your other Apple gear?
Fortunately, Elago makes a clear case that’ll keep your headphones looking new. And unlike other cases, you can keep them on the headphones all the time, even when you’re wearing them. And they’re inexpensive, too.
The new Hermes Casaque line of Apple Watch bands is inspired by "bold jerseys worn by horse jockeys." Photo: Apple
Apple introduced a veritable rainbow of new hues for Apple Watch bands Tuesday — including the new Hermès Casaque multicolor bands inspired by “bold jerseys worn by horse jockeys,” Apple said.
The top Casaque band, a double-strapped leather number with four colors in it, costs $599. And that’s with no watch included. But at least you get a borderline-hideous Apple Watch band.
Fortunately, new spring colors are also available for several styles of reasonably priced bands like the Solo Loop and Sport Band.
You can't miss the yellow one on the right. The others are midnight, starlight, Product(Red), blue and purple. Photo: Apple
Apple rolled out yellow versions of its iPhone 14 and 14 Plus handsets Tuesday as part of a typical midcycle refresh. The new color joins midnight, starlight, Product(Red), blue and purple in the lineup. Apple made four new silicone case colors available, too.
You can preorder the new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus as of Friday. The new phones arrive in stores on March 14, Apple said. The cases are available now.

Small desk? No problem. You can still have a solid computer setup. Photo: [email protected]
Even a small desk can’t keep you from having a powerful computer setup — if you get the right gear and not too much of it. All it takes is a great laptop — like a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air — a vertical laptop stand, a not-gargantuan display and a minimal amount of other gear, as shown in today’s featured setup.
Oh, and consider a monitor arm rather than a stand. That helps keep the external screen out of the way.

Apple TV+ correctly referred to its hit psycho-drama Severance as a “cultural phenomenon” Sunday when it pointed out the show nabbed Best Drama and Best New Series at the Writers Guild Awards. It’s the only show to win two major categories this year.
