The lengthy wait for Galaxy Fold could soon be over.
One Samsung executive says the company’s first foldable phone is now “ready to hit the market.” Its launch was delayed due to a huge design flaw, but Samsung is confident the device will still see a lot of attention.

If you’re itching to get your hands on a foldable phone and you thought choosing Huawei over Samsung would be a good idea following the Galaxy Fold’s delay, think again.
Huawei has confirmed that it, too, is delaying its first foldable handset. The Mate X is now pegged for a September debut so that extra tests can be carried out to avoid another Galaxy Fold fiasco.
AT&T has finally followed Best Buy and Samsung itself in canceling all Galaxy Fold preorders.
The carrier has begun emailing customers to inform them that it is unable to ship their shiny new handset. It promises a prompt refund, and a $100 gift card for the inconvenience.
It is looking increasingly unclear whether the Galaxy Fold will ever make it to market.

Samsung isn’t yet ready to commit to a release date for its troubled Galaxy Fold. Information leaking out last month had indicated the delayed folding handset might be out before July. However, Samsung said today that it isn’t prepared to commit to a timeframe.

The future of Samsung’s first foldable phone looks uncertain again after Best Buy canceled all existing preorders.
The retailer says it wants to put customers first and “ensure they are taken care of in the best possible manner.” It doesn’t want people hanging on for a phone that still has no release date.
Samsung is said to be making a number of changes to the Galaxy Fold in an effort to fix its durability issues. The South Korean company could finally launch its first foldable phone next month.
Fans were hoping to get a new release date last week — at least for customers in the U.S. — but it never came.

Samsung’s boss Koh Dong-jin says that his company will announce its conclusion about the future of the Galaxy Fold this week.
Samsung has reportedly “reviewed the defect” highlighted in early reviews, and will announce its rescheduled launch plan in the U.S “in a couple of days.”
Samsung has confirmed it will cancel preorders for the Galaxy Fold if it is unable to ship the device this month.
The South Korean company’s first foldable phone was scheduled to ship on April 26 but has been indefinitely delayed as a result of technical problems with its flexible screen.

Motorola is about to attempt a big comeback into the smartphone market and folding displays could be the key to making the company relevant again.
Leaked images of an alleged Motorola Razr have surfaced online revealing significant changes made to one of the most popular phones ever. While we can’t verify whether or not the image above is authentic, we have to admit, it actually looks pretty amazing.

iFixit says it removed its teardown of Samsung’s troubled Galaxy Fold device at the Korean company’s request.
The website’s teardown revealed that Samsung may have failed to include sufficient protection against debris between the device’s OLED screen and chassis bezel. iFixit removed the article after Samsung retrieved all units sent to reviewers. Many reviews noted that the pricey $1,980 handset suffered serious screen problems.
The Fold isn't the precedent-setter Samsung may have hoped. Photo: Samsung
Having pushed back the launch of its Galaxy Fold folding smartphone, Samsung is now supposedly retrieving all units it sent reviewers — without issuing replacements. While there’s disagreement on whether the original units were meant to be returned after 10 days, it seems things aren’t quite playing out as expected.

Caviar, the Russian company behind some of the craziestiPhonemodswe’veeverseen, has come out with its first folding iPhone concept design video today and as you’d expect, it’s absolutely wild.
Not satisfied with just one fold out display, Caviar’s ‘iPhone Z’ concept proposes having a display that folds twice. The end result is an iPhone that folds out to the same size as an iPad Pro, only its even more useful.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Fold smartphone has a serious problem with its folding display.
Multiple early reviewers are reporting that the display has broken after just one or two days of use. It appears that the hinge on some units is defective, causing the screen to be unusable.

Samsung’s very experimental and pricey Galaxy Fold takes a big step toward its launch tomorrow. This will be the first wide release of a folding phone in the U.S.
In addition, Samsung promised the Galaxy S10 5G will debut in the U.S in May.

Xiaomi is the latest smartphone maker to tease its upcoming folding smartphone with a short new video that shows its double folding display in action.
While Samsung’s Galaxy Fold and Huawei’s Mate X each have one folding section, the Xiaomi’s Mi Fold goes from tablet to phone mode by folding down two sides of the screen. This leaves you with a nearly edgeless phone display that’s a bit wider.
Ready to prove the haters wrong, Samsung published a new video today showing off the folding capabilities of its new folding phone, the Galaxy Fold.
Samsung created some small robots that fold the Fold open and closed thousands of times in a day to see how durable its flexible display truly is. The displays still haven’t been fondled by members of the press yet, so this is the closest thing we’ve seen to a durability test on the futuristic phone.

Samsung has beaten Apple to the foldable smartphone, and it could have a sneaky trick up its sleeve to prevent the iPhone-maker from catching up quickly.
Analysts expect Samsung to hold off on selling its Infinity Flex displays to delay a foldable iPhone. It’s unlikely Apple would be able to source flexible OLED displays elsewhere.

Samsung put Apple and the rest of the tech industry on notice today during its massive Unpacked event.
During the biggest tech event of 2019 so far, Samsung unveiled a slew of new smartphones, wearables, earbuds and more. Even though Samsung has a rep for copying Apple — and there was certainly a lot of that at Unpacked — the company is setting the tone for the rest of the industry. Samsung even leapfrogged Apple’s products in some ways.
