Some computer setups showed off on social media aren’t packed with the latest and greatest tech gear — they just look great. Today’s featured setup is a fine example. It packs two still-going-strong older Macs — a MacBook Pro from 2021 and a Mac mini from all the way back in 2012 — driving an LG ultra-wide display. But the subtle lighting and tasteful decor, including great use of plants, go a long way in this one.

MacBook Pro under LG ultra-wide display hides an aging Mac mini
This 35-inch curved ultra-wide screen features QHD resolution (3440p x 1440p), sRGB 99% Color Gamut, HDR 10, USB-Type C, AMD FreeSync and a 3-side virtually borderless design.
- Lots of screen real estate
- Good color coverage
- Not the biggest or best resolution available
In a post titled “Updated setup,” Redditor crispyking showcased the clean and beautiful M1 MacBook Pro workstation. In addition to the laptop, it also features a 2012 Mac mini powered by an Intel processor. The little desktop computer hides behind the 16-inch MacBook Pro in clamshell (closed) mode on an Oakywood vertical laptop stand.
The MacBook Pro drives a big LG curved ultra-wide display mounted on an Invision MX450 monitor arm. The display, guarded by a mini Storm Trooper figure from Star Wars on the shelf above, shows some very cool geometrical wallpaper on its screen. Flanked by distinctively round Creative Pebble desktop speakers, it’s also set off by nice lighting on the wall from a hidden Govee LED light strip.
