Few things take a computer setup up a few notches more than a good monitor mount — especially when it features dual arms positioning dual displays well off the desk. Today’s M4 Mac mini setup enjoys a pair of solidly affordable 4K Asus displays mounted on a Huanuo Dual Monitor Stand with two highly adjustable arms for optimal positioning.

In lieu of new Asus 5K monitor, M4 Mac mini user loves pair of well-mounted 4K Asus displays
This 27-inch 4K HDR UHD resolution (3840p x 2160p) IPS monitor features100% sRGB/Rec. 709, ΔE < 2, Calman-verified color reproduction, and USB-C DisplayPort, HDMI and USB hub connectivity.
- Calman-verified color reproduction

- 5K display are becoming widely available
In a post entitled “Mac mini M4 set up,” Redditor Boat_Noodles21 showcased an M4 Mac mini (24GB memory, 512GB SSD storage) setup with dual 27-inch 4K Asus ProArt displays and an M1 MacBook Pro (8GB, 512GB) on a vertical stand off to the right. Both the Asus displays and the dual-arm stand they’re mounted on — not to mention the mini but mighty desktop computer — are solid budget choices for any setup.
Asus monitors
Someone assumed the monitors were the relatively new Asus ProArt 5K display — a great but more-pricey choice our Cult of Mac review recommended as a Studio Display alternative.
“Would love the 5K, but only the 4K, lol, PA279CV,” Boat replied, naming their earlier-generation model.
Someone else asked about the overall quality of the display compared to a MacBook screen.
“I think it’s a great alternative for the price,” Boat replied. “I do moderate photo editing on these and have been more than satisfied. Only issue I would say is that it takes like 2 seconds to turn on after sleep.”
Display features:
- International color standard 100% sRGB and 100% Rec. 709 wide color gamut.
- Calman-verified with factory calibrated for excellent Delta E < 2 color accuracy.
- Extensive connectivity including DisplayPort over USB-C with 65W Power Delivery, DisplayPort, HDMI and USB 3.1 hub.
- 3-month Adobe Creative Cloud included (valid from 9/1/2023 to 8/31/2025).
Huanuo Dual Monitor Stand
This fully-adjustable monitor desk mount offers a choice of swivel VESA bracket with C clamp or a grommet mounting base. Fits 13-inch to 32-inch computer screens. Each arm holds up to 19.8 pounds.
- Easy installation
- Adjustability allows monitor positioning
- Affordable
- Some arms hold more weight
Crafted with aerospace-grade aluminum alloy and durable gas springs, Huanuo Dual Monitor Stand for desks can steadily support up to 22 pounds on each arm, according to the company. The monitors can range from 17 inches to 32 inches, be flat or curved and use 75x75mm or 100x100mm VESA mounting patterns.
The two arms features +/-90-degree swivel, +90-degree/-35-degree tilt to help reduce glare and 360-degree rotation to choose landscape or portrait mode. The dynamic screen positioning helps you to find the perfect viewing angle for both screens.
Setup time is only about 10 minutes using the included tools and instructions. You can choose C-clamp mounting for desks with 0.39in to 3.15in thickness or opt for grommet hole mounting for desks with 0.39in to 2.17in thickness.
Interesting lighting
You can install these dimmable motion sensor lights indoors under cabinets or shelves. They feature three color temps, magnetic attachment and a 2600mAh rechargeable battery. 4-pack.
- Attach under cabinets or shelves with magnets
- Dimmable with adjustable temperature
- Recharge via USB-C
- Battery life and magnetic connection could be question marks
You may notice nice lighting on the wall above and behind the displays, on the art work and on the shelf above holding the Sony headphones, among other items. I haven’t seen the downward-facing lights before. Turns out they’re a $30 lighting solution.
“They are the Deerdance under cabinet lights from Amazon,” Boat said when asked about them. “I’ve had them for a couple weeks and just charged fully at the beginning. I don’t turn it on too often though so I haven’t had to charge them again yet.”
