This isn’t the only keyboard designed to match the 2019 Mac Pro. Photo: Apple
Everyone who was busy ogling the “cheesegrater” design of the 2019 Mac Pro can be forgiven for not paying attention to the keyboard. But Apple is prepping multiple keyboards that match the silver-and-black look of this powerful desktop.
An image of one of these not publicly seen before has come to light.
The first year of Apple Entreprenuer Camp today wraps up after its fourth cohort of 2019. It has helped more than 42 companies, all led by women, since it kicked off last November.

Microsoft today rolled out a bunch of updates that bring a long-awaited dark mode to its Office suite on iOS.
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote are all a little easier on the eyes (if you want them to be). Dark mode will also help them be kinder on battery life on iPhone models with OLED displays.
macOS Catalina is here. But proceed from Mojave with caution. Photo: Apple
Catalina the island is a paradise. Catalina, the Mac operating system, could be hell for some creatives, including DJs, writers and photographers if they immediately upgrade.
Adobe, makers of Photoshop and Lightroom, are telling users to hold off on updating to macOS Catalina until it can iron out a number of compatibility issues.
Opening two files in the same app on an iPad requires rocket science. Photo: Graham Bower/Cult of Mac
Thanks to the recently launched iPadOS, I can finally do simple things on my iPad that I’ve always been able to do on my Mac. Like opening multiple documents in the same app, or installing fonts.
Trouble is, while these things are easy to do on a Mac, they’re fiendishly difficult with an iPad.
In the early days, everyone celebrated the iPad for being easier and more intuitive to use than a Mac. But as Apple crams in more features, that is no longer true. iPad is still easier to use for simple things, but it is much harder and more cumbersome for performing advanced tasks.
5 out of 15 of Apple's exemption requests were denied. Photo: Apple
The U.S. federal government denied Apple’s request to be exempt from the 25% tariffs that affected some components of the new Mac Pro.
Apple revealed last week that it will make the Mac Pro at its plant in Austin, Texas which some observers thought might be key to getting relief from Trump’s tariffs. The U.S. Trade Representative posted its decision today saying Apple didn’t show that the tariffs would cause severe economic harm to the U.S.
Can Arcade ever become the service Apple promised? Photo: Apple
Apple Arcade’s slate of more than 100 games for $4.99 a month looks like one of the best deals in gaming at first glance. But Apple’s new game subscription service fails to live up to the expectations of many iPhone and iPad owners.
That’s not because the games are bad. Or because there are hidden fees we weren’t expecting. It’s because Cupertino billed Apple Arcade as something special … and it just isn’t.

Hollywood film and TV studios using Apple’s Mac Pro were hit with a crippling bug this week that caused some post-production operations to grind to a halt.
The bug originated in an update to Avid’s video editing products that are used by some of the top studios in the world. After a recent update came out, studios using the Mac Pro were hit with a rebooting issue that caused their workstations to crash.

In iOS 13, Photos is now an image-editing powerhouse Photo: Charlie Sorrel/Cult of Mac
The Photos app in iOS 13 is now good enough that you may never need another app to edit your photos, for regular edits at least. Somehow Apple made the app even easier to use, and added some new features, while making existing features far easier to find.
For instance, Portrait Mode now gets its own tab; the automatic magic wand tool can now be fine-tuned (as can the built-in filters); and the crop tool now fixes perspective, and mirror-flips your photos.
