A recent online conference dedicated to Apple’s much-maligned Newton drew dozens of fans from around the world — including Steve Wozniak and other Apple alumni.

After the 2020 Worldwide Online Newton Conference — the first gathering dedicated to the groundbreaking PDA in a decade — event organizer and Newton superfan Paweł Piotrowski marveled at the lasting impact of the handheld, which Apple discontinued almost 25 years ago.

“It is unbelievable that this old technology still connects people who make friendships because of their shared love of a small green device,” Piotrowski, who works as a college lecturer and live-stream technician in Edinburgh, Scotland, told Cult of Mac. “I’m glad this conference was able to build on that.”

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, he and his wife both ill while traveling home from Asia in January, said the Center for Disease Control turned down their request for coronavirus testing.

In an interview with a San Francisco radio station Wednesday, Wozniak appeared to better explain a puzzling Twitter post from Monday, where he described he and wife as “patient zero in the U.S.”

Steve Jobs was driven by money and the desire to be important. That’s according to Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak on the latest episode of former Apple evangelist Guy Kawasaki’s Remarkable People podcast.

Woz just wanted to have fun, but Jobs was propelled by something else, Wozniak said on the podcast. “[He] was always looking for little ways to make a next step in money, [and] he wanted to be that important person in life,” Woz told Kawasaki.

Apple’s co-founder Steve “Woz” Wozniak is one of a number of Apple Card owners concerned about a possible sexist algorithm used for determining credit limits.

On Twitter, Woz said that he received 10x more credit on the card than his wife. “We have no separate bank or credit card accounts or any separate assets,” Wozniak clarified. “Hard to get to a human for a correction though. It’s big tech in 2019.”
