The Twelve South Curve Nano is an iPhone stand designed to go with you anywhere. It’s slim and lightweight when folded, but flips open to support your handset when you’re watching video, making a video call and more.

I tried it out with my iPhone 16 Plus, both at home and on the go. Here’s what I found.

Twelve South Curve Nano review

As much as we all love our iPhones, we don’t want to hold them all the time. There’s no better example than when making a video call, whether on FaceTime, WhatsApp or whatever — please don’t make the person you’re talking to endure shakycam. Beyond that, it’s simply more relaxing to prop up your iPhone, lean back and watch video.

The Twelve South Curve Nano can hold your handset in landscape or portrait mode at a wide range of viewing angles, and it’s designed to be easy to carry around so it’s always available.

Slim and lightweight but well-made

Before you flip it open, the iPhone stand measures 4.7 inches by 2.4 inches and 0.3 inches thick. It weighs just 0.15 pound. That’s definitely pocketable, or it slides easily into a purse or backpack.

It’s metal, not plastic, and is strong despite the slim profile. I tried to bend it with no success. The only plastic part is a cushion for the MagSafe connector so the stand doesn’t scratch the handset attached to it.

And don’t worry about it scratching up other items in your bag — Twelve South includes a carrying case.

My review unit is Coastal Blue, plus there are Dune and Slate color options.

A hinge along one edge of the Twelve South Curve Nano lets me raise one side, with the second side holding it up. The raised side includes a MagSafe ring that an iPhone magnetically attaches to. Ta da! It’s now a stand.

And a good one, especially for something designed to be used on the go. The MagSafe magnets hold my iPhone 16 Plus on firmly — it doesn’t slip off just because I tap the screen. And the base of the stand is large enough to prevent the phone from tipping over easily.

The Twelve South Curve Nano offers plenty of flexibility. Thanks to the magnetic connection, I can position the display in horizontal or portrait mode, or anywhere in between. And the hinge lets me tilt the iPhone over a wide range, from lying flat to almost exactly straight up. It needs to lean back just a little so the stand doesn’t fall forward, though I can put something (like a book) on the base of the stand to prevent that.

Just note that the stand blocks access to the iPhone’s wireless charging port. I can power up the handset when it’s connected to this stand, but that requires a cable.

Twelve South Curve Nano review: Final thoughts

While a simple gadget, this MagSafe iPhone stand does its job well. It holds my iPhone in any viewing angle I could want, and in landscape or portrait modes. And when it’s not needed, it’s easy to carry around.

This isn’t a flimsy plastic folding stand — it’ll last for years — and is priced to match.
