Review: Diptic For iPhone

I love my iPhone photography apps, and I thought I knew about all the best ones. Turns out there’s always something new to learn.

Heather Powazek Champ posted a list of her favorite iPhone photography apps, and among them was one that was totally new to me: Diptic.

It’s lovely. It provides a bunch of smart templates into which you can drop photos from your albums, or new ones taken inside the app itself. Each picture can be moved inside its frame, and there are basic (but effective) image editing tools to brighten up exposure and colors.

The results look smart, distinctive and cool. Even the dullest scene can be given some spark by viewing it from a couple of different angles and putting both views side-by-side.

Only two bucks, and highly recommended.

Oh, and echoing Heather’s post: what are your favorite photography apps? What’s the one that you always show to friends, or the one you use the most?
