Best List: Bower & Wilkins P5 Wireless Headphones
Damn, I love Bluetooth.
Crap, I hate Bluetooth.
Bluetooth is the Jekyll and Hyde of technology. One minute it is your best friend and confidante; the next it is the most evil of evils. Actually, it is the other way around. As you are trying to find the device, and pair the device, and make sure the device stays paired, Bluetooth is some super-annoying technology. Then, once your devices have made nice, the relationship is repaired.
The P5 Wireless headphones from Bowers & Wilkins are better than most when it comes to this relationship: They pair easily, stay paired, and only suffer from occasional connectivity blips.
The on-off switch, volume and pause/play controls on these cans are actually functional. The headphones fit comfortably, and the sound quality is excellent — just as you would expect from Bowers & Wilkins.
The P5’s leather ear pads can get a little hot-boxy in warm weather, but being removable, i.e. replaceable, these understated beauties should keep the tunes flowing for a good long time.
