The Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 charging station stands out in a sea of desktop chargers with its sleek design, an adjustable Qi2 charging pad, and retractable USB-C cable, helping minimize cable clutter.
It is also smart enough to automatically allocate more power to devices low on juice so that they can charge faster. So, is the Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 the charging station to buy? Find out in my review.
Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 Retractable Desktop Charger review
With an ever-growing list of devices that need daily top-ups, a charging station has become a must-have in my office. I previously relied on multi-port GaN chargers, but realized charging stations work better for my purpose.
For the last few months, I have been using the Acefast 218W power station as the go-to charging solution on my desk. But Baseus, a renowned accessory maker, has an even more elegant solution with its Nomos retractable desktop charger.
After using a few desktop power stations over the last year, I have realized there’s more to them than just the number of ports. Effective cable management is just as important; without it, my desk is constantly cluttered with unused USB-C cables. Baseus aims to solve this problem with its Nomos 5-in-1 charging station and its 100W retractable USB-C cable.

The Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 charging station is the sleekest power station I have tried yet. This design comes with a compromise (more on that below). But if you want a power station with modern aesthetics and a stealthy look, the Nomos 5-in-1 should be your top pick. The shiny, black front panel perfectly complements the charging station’s matte black body. However, the glossy front picks up scratches and smudges in no time.
At the front, the Nomos charging station features a retractable 0.8-meter (31.5-inch) USB-C magnetic cable. Once you remove any device from charging, you pull the cable a bit, and it automatically retracts into the station, with the USB-C connector magnetically snapping to the front. The cable extends smoothly, and after a few weeks of testing, I’ve found the retractable mechanism consistently reliable.
This convenient addition helps keep my desk organized and clutter-free and sets the Nomos charging station apart from the competition.
There are also two more USB-C ports and one USB-A port at the front.
On top, the Nomos charging station features a versatile Qi2 charging pad that supports both vertical and horizontal device placement. Since it’s Qi2-certified, it supports MagSafe (which forms the basis of the Qi2 standard). A discreet display beside the magnetic charging pad remains hidden when inactive and reveals the real-time output of each port when in use.
There’s a switch on the right side of the Nomos 5-in-1 charging station that you can use to toggle between various display modes or, thankfully, turn it off altogether with a long press. The display also automatically switches off after three minutes of inactivity. However, the screen will light up again the next time you plug in a USB cable for charging.
To ensure efficient heat dissipation even under full load, the bottom of the charging station comes equipped with two rubber pads.

The Nomos 5-in-1 charger is not as compact as the Ugreen 100W charging station. However, it can charge many more devices at once, making it suitable for heavy users. Its compact, boxy design makes it easy to slip into a backpack, so you can carry it when traveling. This is a great option if you have multiple devices to top up when on vacation.
Power output
With the Qi2 charging pad and the retractable USB-C cable, I can use the Nomos 5-in-1 charging station to charge two devices without creating a mess of wires on my desk. In total, the charging station can charge up to five devices at once.
Below is the maximum power output for each USB port and the Qi2 charging pad when used individually on the Nomos 5-in-1 charging station:
Ports | Max power output |
---|---|
USB-C1 (retractable cable) | 100W |
USB-C2 | 100W |
USB-C3 | 140W |
USB-A | 15W |
Qi2 charging pad | 15W (iPhone only) |
Unlike some power stations, you cannot adjust the power output of each USB-C port individually. Instead, the Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 automatically distributes power across all ports using a dynamic allocation system.
This is how the company explained the system in a statement:
“For example, when a Samsung device is connected to C1, an Apple device to C2, a laptop to C3, a smartwatch or earbuds to USB-A, and an iPhone 15 to Qi2, the system automatically detects the initial battery levels of each device. Based on these levels, it dynamically allocates power — devices with lower battery levels receive higher power. When all devices are at 0% battery, priority is given to high-power devices (laptops over smartphones).”
Keep in mind that the total combined power output of the Nomos 5-in-1 tops out at 140W. However, thanks to its intelligent power allocation system, you won’t need to worry about plugging your most power-hungry device into a specific port. If you’re charging two devices via the C1 and C2 ports, the Baseus charger will automatically distribute power between them based on their battery levels and maximum power input capacity.

To fast charge your MacBook Pro or any USB 3.1 device, be sure to use the third USB-C port located next to the USB-A port. It is the only one capable of putting out 140W of power with a compatible cable; other USB-C ports max out at 100W.
When using all the ports on the Baseus Nomos charging station simultaneously, it can distribute power as follows:
• USB-C1 + C2 + C3 + USB-A + Qi2 Pad: 45W + 30W + 45W + 10W + 10W
• Alternative Configuration: 80W + 20W + 20W + 10W + 10W
• Balanced Combination: 60W + 45W + 10W + 10W + 10W
My biggest complaint — a side effect of the Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 charging station’s sleek design — is that the total power output maxes at 140W. Given that it can charge five devices at once, this isn’t sufficient. Because of this limitation, you can’t fast charge your MacBook Pro while charging other devices.

Also, you might encounter problems when charging a Samsung Galaxy phone with the USB ports on the Nomos 5-in-1 charging station. So, if you are heavily into Samsung’s ecosystem, you might want to look at other options.
Another weird limitation with the Nomos is that despite being Qi2-compatible, the wireless charging pad can only top up Android devices at 5W speeds. Only iPhones can pull 15W speeds.
Pricing
The Baseus Nomos 5-in-1 charging station carries an MSRP of $150, though you can frequently find it discounted to $130 or less. That’s just $30 more than Apple’s 140W USB-C power brick, while four-port USB-C power adapters from Anker and others typically cost around $90. Given the sleek design, the retractable magnetic cable and the Qi2 charging pad, the Baseus charging station justifies its price tag.
It would have been an instant recommendation for me if the charging station delivered enough juice to fast charge a MacBook, iPhone and iPad simultaneously. However, its combined 140W power output is on the lower side, reducing its usability for power users.
