In its latest quarterly earnings, Spotify has revealed that it currently has 108 million paying subscribers. That’s approaching 2x the number who subscribe to Apple Music, which is around 60 million at present.

Apple is celebrating China’s National Fitness Day with a new Apple Watch Activity challenge. August 8 was first named National Fitness day in 2009, commemorating the anniversary of the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening.
To complete the National Fitness Day challenge, users will need to record a workout of half an hour or longer.

“We’ve been making the Mac Pro in the United States and we want to continue doing that,” Cook said during Apple’s earnings call. “We’re working and investing currently in the capacity to do so. We want to continue to be there.”

Up until the latest developer beta 5, the iOS 13 share sheet has been a mess. At the top is the truly excellent quick-share row, which automatically suggests sharing destinations that you use often — iMessage and email contacts, AirDrop destinations, and so on. Then there was the familiar row of app icons.
However, below that came a single long list of B&W labels, mixing up all the other sharing options, along with all of your shortcuts. It was impossible to use. It also felt like a placeholder for a new UI design.
Now, that new design has been added, and it’s … OK. There’s still no color differentiation for your shortcuts, and the list is still too long, but you can customize some sections. Let’s take a look at the new iOS 13 share sheet options.
Facebook’s trick of never letting readers get to the bottom of its homepage would be banned under a law just proposed in the U.S. Senate. The same legislation also would block auto-playing media.
The goal is to make social networking less entrancing.
The big news in iOS 13 developer beta 5 is that the share sheet has finally been fixed up. Previously, it has been almost impossible to use in the iOS 13 beta, thanks to pretty much every share option being lumped into one never-ending list.

Google Chrome’s brilliant dark mode, which makes your favorite websites easier to read at night, is coming to macOS.
The feature is currently available only on Android, but the flag that enables it will soon be supported cross-platform. You’ll be able to enjoy it on your Mac, Windows PC, and on Chrome OS devices.

Today’s Apple earnings could well be the company’s most boring quarterly report this year. But if you’re looking for a no-risk time to throw some short-term cash at Apple stock, now could be the right moment.
Well, according to CNBC’s Jim Cramer, at least.
iPhone shipments in China tumbled 14% in the last quarter, according to new figures published by Canalys.
In doing so, it left the market open for Huawei to continue its rise. Huawei, which overtook Apple in total smartphone sales last year, increased its shipments by 31% during the same period.
