“We’re proud and grateful for the community of players we were able to build with Forza Street,” Microsoft said. “We want to use what we learned on building new and exciting Forza products.”

MacKeeper's decade-long journey to win back customer trust.
MacKeeper got a bad rep after some bad decisions. Here's how the controversial Mac app turned things around.

This post is brought to you by MacKeeper.

By Andriy Shvets, CMO at MacKeeper

If you’ve heard of MacKeeper, you may have seen phrases such as these: “Avoid MacKeeper like the plague.” “Invasive malware.” “Get rid of it ASAP.”

As MacKeeper’s chief marketing officer, it pains me to read comments that disparage or warn against our software, especially because they come from people who had real and genuine concerns about the way we marketed our product.

Think again before building a Wordle clone for iPhone and iPad.

Apple swiftly reacted to shameful clones of popular online game Wordle by booting them from the App Store.

Josh Wardle’s original version of the word game, available to play for free in a web browser, went viral in recent weeks. Some developers saw an opportunity to capitalize on that by charging for knockoff versions on iPhone and iPad.

Many of the clones, which quickly rose to the top of the App Store’s charts, used exactly the same name as Wardle’s game — and charged players as much as $30 per year in subscription fees. But they didn’t last long.

This beefy leather AirTag keychain will sucker you in [Review]

WaterField Designs Leather AirTag Keychain review: This keychain can handle a clutch of keys.
This AirTag keychain from WaterField Designs can handle a clutch of keys.
Photo: Lewis Wallace/Cult of Mac

WaterField Designs’ AirTag Leather Keychain looks a little like a squid’s head. The oval-ish leather keychain comes with a heavy-duty matte black key ring at one end. (Your keys would be the squid’s tentacles in this tortured simile.) And a metal grommet at the other end lets you attach an included steel carabiner or cable loop to expand your options.

The San Francisco company constructed this crucial AirTag accessory out of beefy full-grain leather and high-end components. It definitely looks and feels premium. And it seems built to last a lifetime.

The only real downside is size-related: This is one giant squid!
