Earlier today, we saw a gorgeous concept for what the new Apple TV’s iOS 9-driven interface could look like, courtesy of Andrew Ambrosino.
Now, Martin Hajek – the designer behind the most drool-worthy Apple concepts around – has teamed up with Ambrosino to give us a look at what he imagines the Apple TV hardware itself will look like.
No surprises here: it’s gorgeous. And while it’s probably not what the new Apple TV will actually look like, I’d love to buy this if Apple released it as an Apple TV Pro.
In Hajek’s concept, the new Apple TV will feature a more organic design that ismore of the iPhone 6’s design language, right down to a Touch ID button on the front of the remote, which also boasts a touchscreen.
On the back of the remote is a d-pad and dedicated buttons, a nod to reports that the new Apple TV will be a potential Xbox killer aimed squarely at gamers.
And here’s what Hajek’s design looks like, running Ambrosino’s interface concept.
What do you think? Is this what the new Apple TV will look like?
I doubt it – it seems a little premium for a set-top box rumored to cost just $149, so I think Apple will ultimately go with something a little more restrained. Previous reports have also suggested the new Apple TV remote will be touch-sensitive, but not have a touch screen. Still, I’d easily welcome this into my living room if Apple released it as the Apple TV Pro, wouldn’t you?

To each his own, but that’s a little gaudy for my tastes.I want a better remote, home control, siri, apps and unified search, but the flat black puck styling of the second and third gen hardware is just fine with me. They could add white to match the time capsule, but I definitely don’t need any glowing apple logos in my living room.
“What if Apple released an Apple TV Pro?”
What if… Apple and Tesla conspired to create an all-electric, Wi-Fi-enabled, Bluetooth 8.0-ready, USB-10 and USB-D-equipped motorcycle that could go 10,000 miles on a single 20-minute charge, extend small hidden wings, enabling it to fly reasonably long distances, and also have auto-sensing thermal technology to allow it to act as an all-terrain vehicle capable of operating on water, snow or ice?
This render is excellent beside the fact that Apple would never put glowing logo on its Atc. It has to remain invisible in the living room as it always was from the first black Atv.
Stupid mockups from dumb guys with no jobs.
I think that I want to haver less things glowing around my TV than I do now, and a large glowing control or Apple logo aren’t things I want.
I really don’t care what it looks like too much. I definitely want the functionality that’s being rumored though.
It looks like something you would have seen ten years ago, horribly placed visible power button, horrible backlit in your face logo and the remote, what a horrible mess that is. Its all obviously based on the aluminium casing of the iphone 6 which is a pretty bad starting point. It just goes to show how little imagination these mockup guys have!
This is pretty much everything it wont and shouldn’t be!
