Today Twitter rolled out an update to its iPhone app that brings interactive notifications for iOS 8 users. That means you can retweet, favorite, and follow directly from notifications the app sends you.

Profiles have been given a facelift as well with a focus on bios, photos, and favorites.

This is our biggest update to profiles to date, and we hope you enjoy what’s new. Featuring a fresh design, the updated profiles focus on your bio, Tweets and photos, making it easy for you to get a glimpse into the people you care about on Twitter.

The new profile design is available for iOS 7 and iOS 8 users, while interactive notifications are limited to iOS 8 only.

Third-party apps can’t use the iOS 8 quick reply functionality in Apple’s Messages app yet, but Twitter is a good example of utilizing what Apple has given devs already. For instance, you can swipe to favorite a specific tweet from Notification Center.

So, the next crisis for Twitter? When Sponsors realize that a sponsored tweet always leads to a couple of million blocks….
