Trade-In Your Old iPad At Best Buy And Get $200 Off A New One

Best Buy is currently giving away gift cards worth a minimum of $200 to those who trade-in a second- or third-generation iPad for a new model. The offer will get you a brand new fourth-generation iPad with Retina display for as little as $299.99.

Best Buy notes that the trade-in value of your iPad may vary depending on its condition, and the first-generation iPad or iPad mini are not included — only those mentioned above. You’ll get a $200 Best Buy gift card for your old device, which you can then use towards the purchase of the latest Retina display iPad, which usually starts at $499.99.

For that you get Apple’s latest A6X processor with quad-core graphics, a 5-megapixel rear-facing iSight camera capable of shooting 1080p HD video, and a front-facing FaceTime HD camera.

AllThingsD reports the promotion is thanks to the success of Best Buy’s iPhone trade-in program last month. Although the retailer did not disclose how many iPhones it sold during the event, it did reveal there was an “overwhelming response” to it.

Best Buy held a similar promotion on June 1, and it was the company’s biggest day for trade-ins.

It’s worth noting that the promotion is also a chance for Best Buy to shift current stock ahead of the launch of new iOS devices this fall. Apple is expected to refresh the iPad with new specifications and a new form factor, and Best Buy will want to ensure that it doesn’t have too many older models kicking around when that happens.

browse craigslist first before you get scammed by Best Buy.. older iPads are still selling in the $300 + range..

Be prepared to give your Finger Print to best buy for their database. It’s to ensure you are traceable if the item was stolen. Crazy that people willingly give this info to BB. Do yourself a favor and sell it on EBay or Amazon. You’ll get more $$ and won’t encourage this blatant loss of privacy with these greedy Corps.
