Trump Tower in New York City became the site of the biggest meeting of tech figures in years Wednesday, as President-elect Donald J. Trump called together Silicon Valley’s elite for a meeting of the minds.

Apple CEO Tim Cook was among those in attendance and was seated within arm’s reach of the Trump, even though Cook  previously has been criticized by the recently elected Republican. Trump also called for a boycott against Apple products during the blistering presidential campaign.

Other tech icons at Wednesday’s summit included Larry Page, Elon Musk, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, Peter Thiel and Oracle CEO Safra Catz.

Meeting the President-elect

A few minutes of the meeting were recorded by NBC Nightly News editor Bradd Jaffy. In the clip, Trump doesn’t mention any changes he wants to make. The President-elect says everyone in the room has to like him “at least a little bit” because of the bounce the stock market is currently experiencing.

“We’re going to try and have that bounce continue. Even more importantly, we want you to keep going with the incredible innovation. There’s nobody like you in the world. There’s nobody like the people in this room,” Trump said.

Also in attendance were Trump’s children, who have been overseeing his transition team. Trump invited CEOs to call him directly with ideas or concerns, revealing there’s not a formal chain of command in his organization.

I doubt much actual WORK is going to get done since Trump does most of the talking and he’s either sucking up to people or he’s threatening people. I think when there’s a room full of CEO’s like this, he’s probably in kissing ass mode.

Don’t believe that for a second. He brought Mitt Romney to his knees mouth open or bent over whichever you prefer. It was masterful. Romney neutralized. So these people in the room were summoned to know you can play ball together or you can have on hell of an enemy.

Well said trump is in full Suck Ass mode. And a slight power trip because now for the first time ever he can try to pull the strings of everybody and watch them jump and he can giggle

I Agree at all . That’s a candy, before kicking the ass of those who do not pursuit his goals.

Trump is ensuring that he is not to blame for any missteps, including daily security briefings. As for this meeting, purely reality TV.

awesome! love the fact that trump is reaching out to all the great CEOs who are gems of America personally. whether people call it suck ass or whatever, it’s a good move with no ill intent. he will be scrutinized by dems and losers no matter what he does.

Two things the above didn’t mention: a) Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey wasn’t invited and b) Trump’s sons sat in in the meeting. Some say Dorsey was dis-invited because Twitter refused to make an emoji of an anti Hillary hashtag. That shows that he’s a very, very, petty bully. And that Trump’s sons sat in indicates that Trump’s administration is going to be the American version of stereotypical corrupt African and Asian dictatorships.
