Beats co-founder and Apple employee Andre Young, aka Dr. Dre, allegedly hired a hitman to kill Suge Knight, according to a lawsuit filed by Knight.
The former hip-hop mogul who co-founded Death Row Records claims Dre tried to have him murdered because Knight was owed a $300 million payout after Apple’s $3.4 billion acquisition of Beats Electronics in 2014. That deal made Dr. Dre the first billionaire in hip-hop.
[contextly_auto_sidebar] Suge alleges in his lawsuit that he had a lifetime management deal with Dre, who was part of Death Row Records back in the day, when rap beefs ended with bodybags. The deal supposedly entitled Suge to 30 percent of all of Dre’s entertainment earnings.

Knight says Dre tried to cut him out instead of paying the $300 million he claims he was owed after Apple bought Beats.
The reason (aside from all that cash)? Apple didn’t want its brand associated with Knight.
During the 2014 Video Music Awards, Knight got shot seven times in the stomach. He subsequently recovered. Then, in 2015, Knight tried to visit Dre and Ice Cube at a promotional shoot for their movie, Straight Outta Compton. Knight fled the scene after running over two men in his truck. One of the men died.
In his lawsuit, Knight says he ran over the two men because one of them was paid $300,000 by Dr. Dre and Universal Studios to kill him. Dre is currently working to create an original TV show for Apple Music based on his life as a rap DJ in the ’90s.
Dr. Dre has not commented on the lawsuit. However, one of his lawyers released the following statement:
“Given that Dre has had zero interaction with Suge since leaving Death Row Records in 1996, we hope that Suge’s lawyer has lots of malicious prosecution insurance.”

Once a thug, always a thug. You can take the person out of the ghetto, but that doesn’t mean you take the ghetto out of the person. All the more reason Dre should leave Apple and NEVER to return. Just too much bad PR with this guy.
the lawsuit is completely laughable. Not Dre’s fault that some psycho from his past is still doing psycho stuff now that he’s at the top. Suge is just trying to bring Dre’s name down into the dirt with him. Dre doesn’t need to kill Suge Knight.

There is another reason for Dre being out of Apple. Sony’s that’s doing a documentary on Dre/NWA and they want to cover the things like him beating up women, which has has been found guilty doing, and Dre wants them not to portray him as a women beater. He’s scum. Let’s put it this way, with regards to Suge’s claim. I don’t know If it’s true or not, but knowing both these character’s history in their gang mentality. It wouldn’t put it past him to do it. People do crazy things not to give someone a HELL of a lot of money and that’s a definite potential factor in this. What would you do if you had to pay someone millions or tens of millions of dollars? Dre’s scum, period. Whether or not if hired a hit man. He can’t sing, he can’t really play a musical instrument worth beans and he just spits out garbage, IMO. Nothing he’s done has impressed me at all. And yes, he was found guilty beating up a women, which he has done many times. He’s a doorknob.
And do you really think these kinds of affairs is something Apple should associate themselves with ? Seriously ? Child labour allegations, massive tax evasion schemes in Europe the likes of which we’ve never seen before, all those rapper crap cases ? What’s next ? Gang wars ? Apple’s public image is shattering… it’s already extremely negative in Europe and Asia, and this is not going to help a tiny bit.
It’s going against the very nature of Apple’s business – they are a luxury brand. A luxury brand’s image is its most valued asset and things like that are crushing that image in fast-forward… 10 years ago Apple was the ‘think different’ brand. They were the ‘always highest quality’ brand, the ‘fast and smooth alternative to Windows’ brand. Now if you ask people about Apple, they usually go ‘oh those bastards that didn’t pay any taxes for years ? yeah, they should be closed!’ or ‘ oh yeah, that brand for snobs’ – way to go guys, way to go…
Good point sir. Everyone can see that this is a flat out money grab. If they have not had any dealing since 1996. Why all of a sudden you claim to be owed 300 million dollars. Some people (Suge Knight) are just ridiculous and have no morals at all. But this is what the legal court system created by allowing all these types of stupid lawsuits wasting resources which are needed for legitimate legal cases. What a clown!!! Why is Dr. Dre a thug? Yes he has skeletons in his closet but who doesn’t? I consider Dre one of the most successful hip hop artist out there. He has a talent which he was able to capitalize on and make billions. If you really look at the whole picture. How many companies are making billions off of these so called thugs? Open your eyes and you will be better informed. The decline in Apples reputation is not due to Dr. Dre or the likes. Be honest and admit that Apples reputation hits are coming from their association with manufacturers who are known for violation of child labor laws, worker right laws, etc..
between Beats getting sued by Bose, Monster, now this, and the other things regarding Dre. Was it REALLY worth spending $3 Billion on Beats to get all of the lawsuits and other negative publicity surrounding this? Essentially it tells me Apple wasted $3 Billon to buy nothing but on PR headache after another. Tim needs to adjust his moral compass on what types of people he brings in to Apple. His batting average isn’t that good. First the guy heading up Apple Store, which got replaced by Angela, now Dre and Iovine, who else?

not at all, what i am not impressed with is the liberalism shoved into the workplace and forced upon employees based the what the CEO believes in [ so if the CEO believed in sharia law – should be allowed? or believed in Christianity ? ], i support all genders, and genderless people and their orientation, but the views of a CEO should not be forced into the work place, lets concentrate on the products which have suffered under Tim Cook. – most are 3 years old.. while he preaches his values both personal and political – which is fine but do it on your personal time – I will whole heartedly support and attend if we agree. You really need to stop. Do you think Apple purchased beats for the headphones. Apple purchased a popular brand which generates billions in revenue. Now they are putting the Apple touch on the brand to bring it inline with their ultimate plan to further capitalize. Just imagine adding the beats followers to apples. Hmm instant growth revenue. You have people who are going to purchase the headphones just because they are beats then others will buy just because they are apple. I think it was a smart move in my opinion. Dre makes hundreds of millions. Apple isn’t worried about racist white people that hate seeing a successful black man. They want money. And Dre gives them that. You vote for Trump yet he has a rape case going to trial dont you? Hypocrite.
First I would ask apple to stop associating with their china manufacturers who are known for violating worker laws to make the millions of apple products for consumers. Ask apple to bring that work to the states where their are worker protections in place for the employees. Will it cost them profits? Maybe instead of a 9 billion profit apple will make 8.
