Feel the love, people! MaxGizmo, a band based in Toronto (where I happen to be right now — and I’m a little drunk), has just released a fairly awesome song about the glories of the Mac 512k, the first Mac that was capable of, well, doing stuff. It loses points for casual use of a slur, but the beat’s catchy enough. Dig it!

Thanks, Harrison!

I understand, Pete Mortensen, that you are a blogger and are interested in posting tidbits of obscure and intriguing information about Macs, it’s what you do. But your post regarding that lame Mac 512k song was offensive. You made sure to disclaim the slur, but the fact is, the slur was there and the ignorant guys who wrote the song should not have been given the publicity you afforded them. In my eyes the slur is just as much yours as it was theirs.

I am offended by this post because the authors of this lame song should not have been given the publicity granted them by Pete Mortensen. I enjoy this blog very much but feel Mr. Mortensen is just as responsible for the offensive slur as those lame geek-rappers. I don’t think it’s fair to disclaim offensive material and then deliver it to a large number of people. This post was hardly news.

That was the worst song I’ve ever heard. And I’ve heard the ultra-rare Dipthoria bootlegs.
