A Canadian man says he’s lucky to still have his eyes after a Samsung Galaxy S7 exploded in his hands.

Amarjit Mann told a local news station that he felt something in his pocket getting warm while he was driving. He pulled out his Galaxy S7 and says it exploded immediately. Sparks from the blast hit him in the cheek.

“You cannot expect this thing. It was like a nightmare, Mann told the Winnepeg Sun. “Imagine if the phone was (at my ear); my whole face would’ve burnt. People need to be aware of this. It’s like a bomb you can carry.”

Another explosive controversy

Samsung is still trying to make people forget about its exploding Galaxy Note 7 problems. The company recalled all Galaxy Note 7 devices sold after numerous owners reported the device spontaneously combusts. Samsung recalled 2.8 million washing machines a few weeks later because of safety hazards.

Mann says that he was lucky to have his car window open at the time. He tried to throw the device out, but it was stuck to his hand at first.

A class-action lawsuit is already being pursued by Galaxy Note 7 owners. Mann plans to take legal action for his incident, too. Because of the severe burns, he’s not able to work as a mechanic while his hands heal.

“I never had such a bad (burn) in my life,” he says.

BS…. Mac fanboys looking for anything they can to prove their masculinity by owning a mac. I guarantee that there has been an iPhone or two which had a bad battery, etc resulting in a phone melt-down.

And you trolling the internet for “boyfriends” too? WOW. You seem to be a pervert along with a Samsung fanboy. Not a good combination.

    • CelestialTerrestrial says:

      Aw, U Mad Bro? (I couldn’t resist)

    • KRS says:

A iPhone just exploded last week.

    • Chris says:

But not resulting in a global product recall…

Why was this guy still using his Note 7? Hadn’t he heard about the recall?

      • Jeff From Samsungg says:

The note 7 is different to the S7!!!

There is no recall on the S7 but there is on the note 7 :)

        • Chris says:

Sorry, headline and photo caption are different, so I have no idea what exploded in the man’s face…

Slanderous bullshit, if you look at the sensors at the top, you will notice it is a note 7 which is indeed not an s7. Stop trying to stir panic faggot.

    • CelestialTerrestrial says:

The photo says it’s a Note 7, but that doesn’t mean the photo is the unit that the article is about. They might have used a photo they had because they might not have had a photo from the guy who got burned…. :-). Look at the name listed for the photo. Journalists do this when they don’t have a photo from the story, they’ll just use another photo that’s on file.

    • tccooltc says:

Look at the caption for the photo dimwit.

  3. Len Williams says:

Why are all these Samsung fans here commenting on an Apple-centric site? Seems bizarre that they’d take the time to come to Cult of Mac and then post rants on how the article couldn’t possibly be correct.

    • TJ says:

I’ve often wondered this. Seems that Samsung “fans” are very “motivated” to get their “thoughts” out there. I never go to an Android forum and talk smack to them. I don’t care about them. I love what I have and that’s fine for me (and practically everyone I know)

Guess he should have used his phone a little more for reading about Samsung battery issues, instead of checking his Facebook page.
