The second public beta of iOS 10 has been made available to testers today, coming just two days after Apple seeded the third beta to developers.
The final version of the update isn’t expected to launch until fall but Apple is getting eager fans a sneak peek of the new features coming to Siri, Messages, Notifications, Photos, Apple Music and much more.
If you haven’t already signed up to get in on the betas, you can still do so at the Apple Beta Software Program site. Once you’re in the program, you’ll get an email with a link to download the latest builds.
Apple third iOS 10 beta for developers brought a bunch of small changes to iPhone. There’s now a haptic feedback when you lock your device. iCloud Drive downloads now work in Safari and Mail. Apple Music received some small UI tweaks and the new keyboard clicks sound Apple introduced in beta 1 is back after being removed in the previous beta.
A warning about installing iOS 10 beta
Beta testers should only install iOS 10 on a secondary iPhone or iPad because it’s still a buggy mess and is only a trial version. Some apps won’t work perfectly, and downgrading is a pain (although it is possible to downgrade from iOS 10 to iOS 9.3.2).
We’ll let you know if there are any new features in iOS 10 public beta 2 that aren’t found in the recent developer beta once we get it installed.

Does anybody know if they fixed the bug with the public beta people not being to install the watchOS beta? I’ve not been able to install that since day one. It installs the config profile for it, but then when I click on software update it tells me that it’s already up to date running 2.2.1. Any thoughts?
They are not allowing a public beta for watch OS. At least they never said they would, watch OS betas are for developers only.
Ah. Well, that explains a lot of things, but sorta not… I can download the config file, for the watch, and yet it does nothing. I don’t know why they would ASK you to do that, but then not let you update. Weird.

buggy mess? have you actually used it?
Yes it has some bugs, but I wouldn’t call it a buggy mess. Turning the phone to landscape for the handwriting mode quit working this week (and it was working fine since installing Beta 10.0), and pressing the home button button to login with your fingerprint and open the home page is EXTREMELY slow compared to 9.3.2 (now I have to often press it twice, or let my finger rest on the fingerprint scanner for awhile for the home screen to appear.) 9.3.2 was lightening fast. As fast as not having a lock screen at all. I also find the “feedback” app almost useless as it takes hour for the feedback to go out, if it goes out at all. Most of the time it won’t even finish.
