If Apple ever decides to sell a car it may hire Magna International Inc. to do all the manufacturing.
The Ontario-based company is quickly becoming the Foxconn of car building. And after scoring contracts with VW, BMW and Aston Martin they’re now talking with Apple.

Jay Z and Apple aren’t going to be joining forces anytime soon, according to Apple Music head honcho Jimmy Iovine.
In a new interview, Iovine poured cold water on Tidal takeover rumors, saying: “We’re really running our own race” and “we’re not looking to acquire any streaming services.”

iPhone 7 units are going to be rarer than hen’s teeth this Friday, according to Apple. The company’s retail stores have sold out of the hugely popular jet black iPhone 7 and all iPhone Plus models altogether.
In other words, unless you reserved ahead, simply queuing outside your local Apple store is no guarantee you will get the handset you want on launch day.

We’ve got even more deals on the iPhone 7 this week, as well as one of the lowest prices we’ve ever seen on the first-generation Apple Watch. These and more are in this week’s roundup of best Apple deals.
Jet Black AirPods would have been amazing. Photo: Martin Hajek
The new AirPods Apple debuted last week are a classic throwback to the blinding white design that made iPods all the rage. But if the new earbuds are truly as futuristic as Tim Cook claims, they should have used the new jet black color from the iPhone 7.
Mockup artist Martin Hajek proves the AirPods would look absolutely amazing in all-black in his newest renders.

Apple Music doesn’t appear to be slowing Spotify’s growth at all, based on the number of paid subscribers the rival streaming service has added in 2016.
During the iPhone 7 event, Apple boasted that it has 17 million paid subscribers. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek fired shots back on Twitter this morning, revealing his company has more than twice as many paid music listeners.
Are you ready for some football on Twitter? Photo: Twitter
Watching the NFL’s Thursday Night Football games this season will no longer require a cable subscription, as long as you got Apple TV.
Twitter revealed that it’s taking a big dive into video content today with its new app for Apple TV that will offer free live streaming of tons of sports other than football.
Tim Cook loves Apple's vision for a wireless future. Photo: Good Morning America
Tim Cook appeared on Good Morning America today, in which he defended Apple’s decision to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack and reaffirmed the pro-AirPod message that “wireless is the future.”
“When you decide on what the future is, you want to get there as soon as you can,” Cook said. “That jack takes up a lot of space in the phone, a lot of space. And there’s a lot of more important things we can provide for the consumer than that jack.”
AirPods are nice, but they're far from perfect. Photo: Apple
We’ll have to wait until October to get our hands on Apple’s new wireless AirPods, but select reviewers have been granted early access to help us decide whether they’re worth their $159 price tag.
Here’s a roundup of the best reviews we’ve read so far.
The reviews are out — and they're (largely) positive. Photo: Apple
The first Apple Watch Series 2 reviews are out and, like the iPhone 7, they’re largely positive — while also noting that this isn’t an entirely essential device. If you held out on buying an Apple Watch last year, though, or you’re a certified fitness nut, this could be the wearable for you.
Aurora HDR 2017 pulls a beautiful and natural image from the brink of dullness. Photo: Serge Ramelli/Macphun
The iris in the human eye sees more than what your camera records. Photo-imaging software company Macphun seemed to solve this problem last year with Aurora HDR, an easy-to-use tool that gives a final photograph the luminosity experienced by your eye.
On Wednesday, Macphun rolled out a new version of the software that can make a single natural-looking image from three exposures in as little as one click.
Apple's hit another big roadblock in India. Photo: Ste Smith/Cult of Mac
Apple is trying its darndest to grow its brand in India but, just like Apple’s troubles in China, it seems to be running into problems with the government.
According to a new report, the Indian government is currently trying to force foreign smartphone makers — Apple included — to bake in Indian-developed biometric technology, designed to allow users to access a range of public and private services, such as banking.

Apple has dropped the first of many iPhone 7 ads — called, with Jony Ive levels of minimalism, “iPhone 7.”
Rather than explicitly advertise specific features of the next-gen handset, Apple instead opts for a moody teaser commercial, playing off the black color scheme of its latest iPhone.
"Yes, we got you by the balls." Photo: Good Morning America
Apple CEO Tim Cook is set to reassure Americans that the death of the headphone is a good thing for everyone, during an appearance on Good Morning America tomorrow.
Cook’s exclusive interview with Robin Roberts at a school in Harlem promises to be “wide-ranging,” covering everything from the iPhone 7 that will launch on Friday, as well as how Apple’s new AirPods fit in your ear.
“I have never personally had one fall out since I’ve been using it,” Tim said, revealing he runs on a treadmill with them. “They’re absolutely magical.”

Using an AT&T iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s in good condition, we compared our prices with the other guys. The verdict? We pay more.
The iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch are getting all the attention today with the public releases of iOS 10 and watchOS 3, but the Apple TV also just got a ton of new features thanks to the official release of tvOS 10.
Apple’s switch to ceramic for Apple Watch Edition could mean big things for iPhone 8. Being four times harder than stainless steel and a darn sight prettier, ceramic would be an ideal material for the next generation of iPhone unibodies.
Recent rumors have promised Apple will deliver a major redesign next year to celebrate the iPhone’s 10th anniversary, and what better way to do that than with a new material that’s better than anything Apple’s used before?

The long wait for iOS 10 finally ended this morning when Apple unleashed its huge software update on the world, but instead of getting a ton of new features, some iPad and iPhone owners report their devices have been bricked.

Actor Michael Fassbender, who played Apple’s late CEO in last year’s movie biopic Steve Jobs, has said he was so worried he had been miscast that he started planning some slightly extreme ways to get out of the role.
“In rehearsals, I was trying to find a way to get out of the job,” he told reporters at the Toronto International Film Festival. “I remember telling my driver, ‘If I put my arm in the door, you should slam it. It should cause a break and it should get me out of this gig.’”
John Legere thinks the iPhone 7 is kind of a big deal. Photo: T-Mobile
Update: Shares of Apple surged 1.1 percent in premarket trading on Tuesday following Legere’s comments.
According to charismatic T-Mobile CEO John Legere, reports about a supposed lack of interest in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are way overblown.
How overblown? In a live Periscope chat with customers, Legere said that T-Mobile’s iPhone 7 orders are shaping up to be four times those of the enormously popular iPhone 6.
The iPhone 7, he noted, “is a big, big deal.” Who are we to disagree?
