The next big update for OS X El Capitan is nearing completion with the release of OS X 10.11.1 beta 3 to developers and registered public beta testers.

OS X 10.11.1 build 15B30a comes just over a week since the last El Capitan beta was released. It’s available in the Apple Developer Center, as well as through the Software Update option in the Mac App Store.

Previous beta builds of OS X 10.11.1 brought some small new features, like an expanded emoji character set with icons for burrito, spider, unicorn, golfing, a middle finger and much more. Other additions include numerous bug fixes and performance enhancements.

The release notes for OS X 10.11.1 beta 2 don’t mention any major additions, but does ask developers to focus on Mail and
Microsoft Office 2016. The notes also mention that the update will improve the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac.
