A short film commissioned by Apple demonstrates that the iPhone 14 Pro can be used to make a movie. In this case, a short action comedy called Huracán Ramírez vs. La Piñata Enchilada.
Apple also released a “making of” video to show how the film was made with an iPhone 14 Pro.
Huracán Ramírez vs. La Piñata Enchilada: Shot on iPhone
The original iPhone had a measly 2MP camera. Since then, the cameras in iOS handsets have increased dramatically in capabilities, to the point that shooting a film with one isn’t a joke.
What is a joke is the plot of the latest Shot on iPhone project, Huracán Ramírez vs. La Piñata Enchilada. Apple described it like this: “Lucha Libre legend Huracán Ramirez is back to face a terrible threat — an evil piñata that is terrorizing all of Mexico.”
A foolish boy makes a piñata with super-hot sauce and La Piñata Enchilada springs to life! But it’s twisted and evil and begins attacking Mexico’s lucha libre wrestlers. Only Huracán Ramírez can save the day.
Behind the scenes
Apple released various “Shot on iPhone” projects over the years. Along with them usually comes a video showing off how filmmakers used iOS handsets on the projects. Huracán Ramírez vs. La Piñata Enchilada is no exception.
