iPhone SE 4 is almost here
The last iPhone SE refresh arrived in 2022, so the model is due for an upgrade. Leaks indicate the new iPhone SE will sport the same design as the iPhone 14. This means it would pack a 6.1-inch OLED screen — significantly bigger than the current model’s 4.7-inch panel. It will also ditch the physical home button with Touch ID in favor of Face ID.
A Bloomberg report claims Apple is almost ready to launch the iPhone SE 4. Inventory for the existing model is almost over at Apple’s retail stores. The Cupertino giant will unveil the phone in the week beginning February 10th through a press release. Preorders will likely open on February 14th, and the device will go on sale later in the month.
Apart from a bigger display and a modern design, the iPhone SE 4 will stand out as Apple’s first product to use its in-house 5G modem. However, reports suggest it will lack mmWave connectivity and will not be as good as the Qualcomm modem in the iPhone 16 series. Still, it would be a big deal for Apple, which has spent years of R&D and billions of dollars to develop its 5G modem.
Apple’s newest A18 chip will apparently do duty inside the iPhone SE 4. This will also ensure the phone supports Apple Intelligence.
With an updated design, a bigger display, and faster internals, the iPhone SE 4 will likely cost more than the current model’s $429 MSRP. Despite the price hike, the phone should do well in parts of Asia, China, and other price-sensitive markets.
M4 MacBook Air and iPad Air also incoming
The report also claims that stock for the current-gen iPad Air and MacBook Air is running low at Apple stores. This typically means Apple plans to refresh them sooner rather than later.
