iPhone Duo units are already fetching $5,000 on eBay after selling out on Apple’s website Friday morning. Listings on the auction website show dozens of sales of the in-demand foldable for as high as $4,999, which represents about $1,800 in profit for the seller.
The iPhone Duo went on sale at 5 a.m. this morning. But within minutes, ship dates slipped to late January — three months after the new handset is supposed to become available.
iPhone Duo eBay sales are already taking off
Apple’s first folding iPhone was tipped to be a hot ticket, but sales already seem to be unprecedented. The handset sold out within minutes of online preorders opening. The new iPhone was supposed to be available on October 23, but delivery dates have already slipped to January 25, 2027.

eBay shows that at least four iPhone Duo handsets have sold for $4,999. There are dozens of other sales of iPhone Duos from $3,000 and up. The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 on Apple’s website.
One eBay listing marked as sold is for a 2TB night sky iPhone Duo that went for $4,999.99. This model sells for $3,199 on Apple’s website, representing a $1,800 markup. The seller –“cheapdeals2k16” — is also charging about $200 in shipping.
Another eBay sale of a normally $2,599 1TB iPhone Duo netted $4,400, also a profit of about $1,800. The listing says the handset is a “confirmed preorder.”
It’s unclear if the Duo will be available in Apple retail stores on the official October 23 launch day. The company says to check for store availability on October 24.
Right now, Apple’s online store estimates shipping dates for all Duo models to be January 25.
