Leaked iPhone 17 dummy units give us a look at the lineup’s potential color palette. If accurate, Apple will supposedly offer the iPhone 17 Pro lineup in a bold orange color this year.
The iPhone 17 Air and base iPhone 17 will seemingly come in more muted shades.
iPhone 17 Pro dummy unit in orange looks striking
Apple typically offers its non-Pro iPhones in bold, expressive colors, while the Pro models come in more muted, understated shades. The company might flip the playbook with this year’s iPhone 17 family. Dummy units of the iPhone 17 Pro lineup suggest it will come in a bright orange and a dark blue shade. This would be apart from the usual black and a Starlight/white color.
The new color palette would mark a significant departure from Apple’s usual Pro iPhone colors, which typically include shades like blue, gray or black, silver and gold. This should be a welcome change for users who have long wanted Pro iPhones in bolder, more vibrant colors.

The super-slim iPhone 17 Air will seemingly come in four shades: silver, black, gold and blue. But unlike the Pro models, it will feature a lighter hue. As for the base iPhone 17, the dummy units appear in five vibrant colors: pink, green, blue, silver and black.
iPhone 17 leaks pick up steam
A recent leak detailed the iPhone 17’s Pantone color options, with the data seemingly obtained from Apple’s internal documentation. The matching dummy units, along with Sonny Dickson’s solid history of accurate iPhone leaks, further bolster the leak’s credibility.
The iPhone 17 Pro dummy units also showcase the redesigned camera island, with the LiDAR sensor and flash module positioned on the far right. Based on all the leaks so far — including the alleged sighting of an iPhone 17 development unit in the wild — it appears Apple will give its iPhone lineup a major design and color shakeup this year.
