It revealed the premiere date along with a fresh teaser trailer — short but action-packed — and a few teaser photos for the highly anticipated 10-episode season. It will conclude on October 24.
The sci-fi drama, created by Academy Award-nominated producer Simon Kinberg and David Weil, has built a devoted following over its first two seasons by telling the story of an alien invasion through multiple perspectives around the globe. Season three promises to deliver the series’ biggest development yet, as these disparate storylines finally converge, Apple TV+ said on World UFO Day.

For the first time in the series, the main characters will work together as a unified team on a mission to infiltrate the alien mothership. The stakes couldn’t be higher, as the ultimate apex aliens have emerged and are rapidly spreading their deadly influence across Earth. According to Apple TV+, it will require all heroes pooling their experience and expertise to save humanity from extinction.
The season will explore how new relationships form while existing bonds face unprecedented challenges. Some connections may even shatter under the pressure as the international cast of characters races against time to become an effective team.

Season three brings back fan-favorite cast members, including Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Shane Zaza, and Enver Gjokaj. The season also welcomes new series regular Erika Alexander to the ensemble.
Behind the camera, creators Kinberg and Weil continue as executive producers alongside Audrey Chon, David Witz, Alik Sakharov, Dan Dietz, Katie O’Connell Marsh, and Nick Nantell.

Apple TV+ renews sci-fi drama Invasion for third season

February 13, 2024: Sci-fi drama Invasion will return for a third season, Apple TV+ said on February 13, 2024. Apparently, it’s going to take at least 30 episodes — 10 per season — to declare an outcome to mankind’s desperate global battle with alien invaders. (Or maybe more, with a fourth season, if the war drags on.)
The streamer said production on the season three of Invasion will start before the end of February.
Announcing the Invasion season-three renewal, Apple TV+ described the show as a “sweeping, character-driven, global hit science fiction drama series from Academy Award-nominated and two-time Emmy Award-nominated producer Simon Kinberg (X-Men films, Deadpool films, The Martian) and David Weil (Hunters).”
The series follows different characters in different regions as a global alien invasion unfolds. Humans must work together and continuously adapt to keep fighting the at-times baffling extraterrestrial forces.
“I’m so proud of what we’ve been able to do with our first two seasons of the show with our partners at Apple TV+ and our cast and crew,” said creator and executive producer Kinberg. “This new season will continue to build on the scale, stakes and propulsion of the ‘Invasion,’ while keeping our characters front and center, bringing them together in ways that will hopefully surprise and most importantly move our audience, who have been so incredibly supportive and inspiring since day one.”

Invasion follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. The acclaimed, action-packed series stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Billy Barratt, Azhy Robertson, Paddy Holland and Tara Moayedi. Season two also starred newly added series regulars Enver Gjokaj, Nedra Marie Taylor and Naian González Norvind.
Cult of Mac‘s reviewer closed out season one of Invasion on Apple TV+ with a positive review and eagerly looked forward to season two. “As the first season of the Apple TV+ alien combat show ends, it plants clues that leave us itching for season two,” he wrote.
Kinberg and Weil created the show and serve as executive producers. Audrey Chon, David Witz, Alik Sakharov, Andrew Baldwin, Dan Dietz, Katie O’Connell Marsh and, from Boat Rocker Studios, Nick Nantell also executive produced.
