Instagram is going to make it easier to understand posts in foreign languages. In the coming months, the service will rollout a new translate button that will help you understand the full story, no matter which language it was posted in.

All the big social networks, including Twitter and Instagram owner Facebook, have translate buttons that help users understand posts written in foreign languages. On Instagram, the focus is on the photos — but there is often a story to accompany it that you’ll want to read.

Until now, that’s been tricky if the story isn’t written in a language you understand. You either had to copy and paste the text into Google Translate, or just ignore it. But that’s going to change.

“In the coming months,” Instagram will add a button that will translate those posts into your native tongue. The same button will also be available on profile bios, so you can read those, too.

“The Instagram community has grown faster and become more global than we ever imagined,” Instagram said today. “And we’re excited that you’ll soon be able to understand the full story of a moment, no matter what language you speak.”
