Suckers slowly pop the cork on a bottle of champagne. Pros saber it off, exploding bubbly everywhere. But what do you do when you don’t have a sword? You pull out your iPhone.

In this video for Business Insider Singapore, you’ll see how to saber off the cork of a bottle of bubbly with just the blunt edge of an iPhone 5.

The trick, according to the video, is to hold the bottle at a 45 degree angle, find the seam, take aim, and strike through with the blunt edge of your iPhone 5. I might think twice about trying this at home, though, unless you have a steady hand.

It seems unlikely that an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus would work, since those devices are significantly thinner and more rounded, but it’s likely that an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s would work. As always, your mileage may vary.

What I want to know is, how do I crack open a beer with an iPhone?

You know, I just couldn’t wake up and draw breath today without knowing something so informative and useful as this. How my life just suffers not having such wisdom thrust onto my internets page each day thanks to CoM. Thank you CoM, you’re my hero.

In case you missed the sarcasm, its about time you flogs stopped scrapping the bottom of that barrel you keep attacking for story material. There’ll be nothing left for the tabloid journalists.
