The “secret” developer port on the Apple Watch has yet to be harnessed by third-party developers, but it definitely possesses cool powers, as this new video shows: The tiny port hidden by the Apple Watch band can actually charge your device faster than normal.

It’s not a huge speed bump, but this video by Reserve Strap, one of the first makers of Apple Watch battery straps, shows how the diagnostic port can be used to charge the Apple Watch slightly faster: 95 percent of a full charge in the time it takes the built-in inductive charger to reach 90 percent.

Looks good, and god knows the Apple Watch could use more battery life. Sadly, the Reserve Strap is plenty pricey: at $249 for a preorder, it’s almost the price of an Apple Watch Sport.

That’s the worst price/performance ratio in history. I can’t imagine anyone forking over that much, especially given that no one is sure that Apple won’t disable that technology at some point.
