I cannot wait for this to arrive on iOS.

As anyone who has read my coverage of the superb iOS game Monument Valley will know, I’m a huge sucker for beautiful puzzle games.

Well, it seems that 2016’s going to be a good year for me (and plenty of likeminded gamers), since a new trailer showing off an upcoming iOS game called Mekorama, built by the developer behind the very engaging Odd Bot Out, has just been released. And, boy, does it look great!

Check it out below.

The gameplay is certainly reminiscent of Monument Valley, which asks players to guide a character through gorgeous M.C. Escher-style 3D architecture, while solving puzzles along the way. It’s also not dissimilar to the “Captain Toad Goes Forth” level from Super Mario 3D World.

The big selling point, though? Mekorama will feature a level editor which lets players create their own intricate stages — adding a whole extra level of replayability to proceedings.

According to its creator, Mekorama will be out “soon-ish.” However, before then, developer Martin Magni will apparently be looking for beta testers, so if you want to get your hands on the game early, there’s definitely an opportunity to do so.

i’m sure they’ll get a cease and desist.

the character animation is beyond cute, i’d still give monument valley the edge for environment design, though. this one feels a little too stock texture and heavy ambient occlusion.

I think your excitement is a bit premature. The developer,s current game in App Store has an average review score; with most people saying that he doesn’t demonstrate good follow-through. The video showed sloppy animation. It’s nothing more then the protagonists walking in and out of doorways. This is hardly anything to get excited over.
