Google Now notifications can now be seen in your Mac’s menubar thanks to today’s Chrome update. The feature has been in beta for awhile, and now it’s finally available for all.

Google Now cards can display contextually aware information relating to flights, traffic, weather, reminders, schedules, and more. The product works using your Google account, and it is designed to act like a personal assistant by reminding you of commute times, meetings, etc.

Available now on Windows and Mac, Google Now is accessible through Chrome’s notification center in OS X’s menubar. Google Now is also accessible through the official Google Search app on iOS.

  1. The problem is it just installs without you asking if you want it or not. And it is a bit of a hassle to get rid of. Constant reminders in your face are very counterproductive.
