Eve Systems introduced the first Matter-over-Thread smart electrical outlet along with a Matter-enabled smart light switch and window blinds on Monday, the company said.
Eve Energy Outlet, Eve Blinds Collection and Eve Light Switch all work with HomeKit. The outlet and blinds go on sale in early February 2024 and the light switch arrives a bit later.
Eve Energy Outlet, Eve Light Switch and Eve Blinds Collection for Matter coming in 2024
The three new products join Eve Systems’ stable of other Matter-enabled smart plugs and the like. It’s a noteworthy advance as a first, in the case of the smart outlet, and because the long-awaited Matter home-networking standard lets the growing legions of Matter-enabled smart-home devices work together no matter which comany made them. Thread mesh-networking is an important element, too, as it increases network reliability in the smart home.
“Eve Energy Outlet, Eve Light Switch and Eve Blinds integrate seamlessly into modern interiors and are a great choice for homeowners looking to design a comprehensive, long-lasting, and energy efficient smart home infrastructure”, says Jerome Gackel, CEO of Eve Systems.
“Thanks to Matter, they are the most future-proof choices to manage energy usage, lighting and shading,” he added.

Available as of February 6, 2023, the new Eve Energy Outlet replaces a wall outlet and allows you to control the plugs and monitor energy consumption.
Here’s how Eve described the outlet:
Eve Energy Outlet uses Thread to connect to the home network and features two receptacles that can be switched and automated individually. What’s more, Eve Energy Outlet features advanced energy monitoring functionality to help Apple Home and Samsung SmartThings users understand their energy consumption over time. Available in white, the outlet replaces any existing outlet and can be used in single- or multi-gang installations.
Eve Energy Outlet is the first in-wall product in the company’s energy-management product line. Like the Eve Energy smart plug, the outlet enables app and voice control, remote access, scenes and automations on the major Matter platforms, including Apple HomeKit.
User can monitor and control energy consumption by the outlet through the Eve app for iPhone and iPad and the SmartThings app.
Eve Light Switch

Along with Eve Energy Outlet, Eve introduced the Matter model of Eve Light Switch.
The Matter-enabled Eve Light Switch lets you connect lighting to your network without having to switch to smart bulbs.
As Eve noted:
Lights can be easily turned on or off via app or voice control. Through idyllic scenes, Eve Light Switch works in unison with additional Matter devices. The Eve app for iPhone and iPad makes setting up on-board schedules effortless, enabling lights to automatically turn on and off independently of a smartphone or internet connection.
Eve Blinds Collection

Eve Blinds Collection is a “curated lineup of made-to-measure smart blinds” powered by Eve MotionBlinds motors that work over Matter and feature Eve’s Adaptive Shading technology for indoor climate control.
Here’s Eve’s description:
Available through the Eve app for iPhone and iPad, it lets roller blinds with Eve MotionBlinds technology automatically close according to the position of the sun. The high-quality fabrics used for the Eve Blinds Collection are available in semi-transparent and blackout options and with insulating properties that help save energy. Roller blinds from the Eve Blinds Collection will be available to order in the USA and Germany exclusively from the Eve Store.
