Eve Systems expanded its smart home ecosystem with the upcoming Eve Dimmer Switch, scheduled to launch in mid-March at a price of $49.95, the company said Tuesday. The new addition builds upon Eve’s existing smart home lineup, which already includes various devices such as smart plugs, energy strips and indoor cameras.

The new dimmer switch offers a premium option to Apple users looking to enhance their smart home lighting, with a balance of advanced functionality, privacy and integration in the smart home.

A new version of the Eve Weather Connected Weather Station supports the Matter home-automation standard even as the company maintains a HomeKit-only version for those without a Matter hub, Eve Systems said Thursday. Eve Weather keeps you informed of conditions outside and can interact with HomeKit and other platforms to set automations. That could include adjusting the thermostat and turning on lights, or even telling Siri to do so.

Eve Systems introduced the first Matter-over-Thread smart electrical outlet along with a Matter-enabled smart light switch and window blinds on Monday, the company said.

Eve Energy Outlet, Eve Blinds Collection and Eve Light Switch all work with HomeKit. The outlet and blinds go on sale in early February 2024 and the light switch arrives a bit later.

A number of devices across Eve Systems’ product lineup are receiving support for the home automation networking standard Matter with a new, optional firmware update, the company said Monday.

Matter support — which lets devices from different makers work together over the same network — will come to Thread-enabled devices in the company’s Eve Door and Window, Eve Motion and Eve Energy lineups.

Eve Systems offered its second-generation Eve Motion sensor Thursday, adding a light sensor and Thread mesh networking support. The device detects motion to activate other HomeKit-enabled devices.

And it’s actually less expensive than the previous model by $10.

The Thread standard that will be integral to the upcoming Matter home automation technology standard that helps different manufacturers’ devices work together.

In the expanding world of smart home accessories, window blinds are among the most complicated items to install and use. But Eve Systems and window-covering retailer Coulisse have announced they’re about to change that with Eve MotionBlinds. The HomeKit-enabled motorized blinds — the first to support the Thread standard — will come out early in 2022.
