It didn’t take Super Mario Run and its nearly 3 million downloads on day one in the iTunes Store to recognize how serious iOS users are about gaming.

App developers submit hundred of games each day to Apple for iTunes and with a dizzying number of iOS games available, there is an equally impressive number of accessories companies making gamepads for mobile games.

One, GameSir, will debut its first iOS-centric hand controls at next week’s CES in Las Vegas after five years of developing gamepads that have been well received among Android users.

The GameSir M2 GamePad is Apple-certified for gaming on iPhone, iPod and Apple TV with Bluetooth 4 connectivity. It has rubber-coated handles for comfort and LED power indicator for improved gaming process control.

The M2 boasts of having quick reaction speed for shooting and fighting games and comes with free apps for downloading thousands of games, including retro games.

More than 500,000 games have been submitted to the App Store since it first opened in 2008, according to App Store metrics provided by pocketgamer.biz. Last year, pocketgamer.biz figures showed an average of 500 games per day hitting iTunes.

Serious mobile gamers, not satisfied with the response of touch screens, will shell out extra money for a controller that either mounts below the screen or behind it with controls on either end.

GameSir launched in China in 2013 and has sold more than 2 million gamepads across 30 countries. An internet search of “GameSir gamepad reviews” show decent ratings for its devices, like the GameSir G3, but with mixed results adapting them to iPhone.

The M2 is currently being showcased on Kickstarter, on which GameSir is trying to raise money to scale up production. It will be priced at $99, however, it is still available for half the price by pre-ordering on Kickstarter.
