Don’t Worry, Spies Didn’t Really Steal The iOS 7 Jailbreak

When will the iOS 7 jailbreak arrive? Although earlier reports suggested it might already be in the chamber, and proof that exploits had already been found, the iOS 7 jailbreak still remains elusive.

That should not be a surprise. We predicted it would take a full six months to jailbreak the iPhone 5s back in February, and it looks like we might not be far off. But what is happening with the iOS 7 jailbreak?

Well, a lot of intrigue. But don’t worry, things are still moving forward.

Last week, a report surfaced claiming that a person close to Team Evad3rs had stolen the iOS 7 jailbreak exploit and sold it to a private buyer. What would a private buyer want with it? Simple: corporate, industrial, or governmental espionage. Spy stuff!

However, luckily, it appears there’s not a lick of truth to the rumor, with the iDesign Times contacting Evad3rs member pod2g over the weekend to get the scoop, who said that the report was “complete bullshit.”

So what is going on with iOS 7 jailbreak? “The jailbreak stuff is moving on, but slowly,” pod2g admits. It’s only three months into the iPhone 5s’s life cycle so far, though. We’ve got another three months according to our predictions before the iOS 7 jailbreak would actually be late.

How about the damn 6.1.4 jailbreak for those of us with real software?

Couldn’t a private company also be interested in the jailbreak for profit? That seems a lot more likely to me if this was true.
