A man bought what he thought was an iPhone in an electronics plaza in Zhengzhou. But when he found out it was fake, he grabbed a kitchen knife and went back to the plaza to find the seller.
After coming back every day for several days unsuccessfully finding the seller, he found another group of counterfeit iPhone sellers, got into an argument and ending up stabbing one of them to death.

I sometimes get the feeling that a few commenters on this site might be so inclined.
I think this article is wrongly placed. Was it the fact that it was an iPhone or the fact that he was ripped off a lot of money that got the guy angry enough to kill. Yes there are fanatical “i” fan people but why fan the flames by making “i” users look insane by associating a killing with iphone users when most likely the guy would have killed over being ripped off of a different product of the same value. Shame on the author for implying that iPhone users are insane enough to kill.
Well, contrary to your belief, this iPhone user was insane enough to kill. “Fan the flames” ? So what you want is censorship? You want just the “good” articles about iPhone fans to be posted so that they look better? I’m comfused. Just because you own an “i” device doesn’t make you any better or in this case more “sane” than the next person. Shame on you for implying that the author should censor his/ her article based on the information given. And yes I say information given, because I didn’t see anything in the article showing personal feelings about any actions performed, just the facts.
The headline is “iPhone fan,” not “iPhone user.”
It kind of annoys me how obsessive and retarded people can be over shit like this. And when is everyone going to realize chinese people and apple products dont go togather. bad things happen. lol
The buyer may have crossed a lot of lines, but ultimately he used the knife in self-defense. The group of counterfeiters attacked him and were beating him up.
What made him an iPhone fan? he’s buying it from the black market and maybe he just wanted an iPhone and lost a lot of money he was saving up so he did something irrational.
You missed my point. I’m not saying don’t report the story. What I am saying is that the story is written in a way that implies that he killed *because* he was a fanatic iPhone user when there is no proof that it being an iPhone had anything to do with the motivation for the killing. He may have killed the guy if it was a Android or whatever. When the mainstream media gets a story about a white man killing someone, they report it as “a man” killed someone, but when the person doing the killing is a black man, they report it as “a black man” killed someone as if him being black had something to do with the crime. This is no different.
And also, why report this revenge killing and not others? People kill other people every day out of revenge, yet this man gets media time while the others are ignored. Why? For no other reason than because he is an iPhone user. There is no doubt what the motivation is behind the article. You can attempt to justify the article all you want but it just doesn’t hold water.
