Ahead of last night’s 57th annual Grammy Awards, Apple debuted a brand new iPad commercial called “Change,” showing just how easy it is to record music on the iPad.

Featuring Swedish singer Elliphant, Los Angeles-based producer Gaslamp Killer, and English DJ Riton, the ad shows all three remixing Elliphant’s track “All or Nothing” on nothing but the iPad, inclding songwrithing, recording, production, and so on.

The apps used? Apple’s GarageBand for songwriting, of course, but all iMPC Pro for post production, Serato Remote for live performances, and Manual Camera for video.

To me, it seems a little bit like a change of pace for Apple’s ad department, and a little closer to the sort of lifestyle ads that other tech companies try to promote to the public.

That definitely wouldn’t make me want to buy a new iPad.
