The new Apple Watch Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop honors Black History Month, coming up in February, while celebrating themes of human connection and community bonds, Apple said Monday.
New Black Unity Apple Watch band celebrates connection and community
The new band joins Apple’s growing collection of Black Unity accessories, all designed by Black creatives and team members within Apple, the company said. This year’s Apple Watch band design draws inspiration from the Pan-African flag, incorporating its signature red, green and black colors throughout the woven pattern.
Oddly, Apple also marked the occasion by listing its Unity Rhythm Apple Watch faces under “New Watch Faces” in the Apple Watch app, though they came out in January 2025. No new Black Unity watch faces have been released so far this year.
Advanced design meets sustainable materials
The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop showcases Apple’s manufacturing expertise. It uses advanced precision-braiding machinery to weave recycled polyester yarn filaments around ultra-thin silicone threads. The result is a soft, textured band that’s both sweat and water resistant — perfect for your active lifestyle.
What makes this band particularly striking is its depth of color. Upon close inspection, you’ll notice multiple shades of red, green and black interwoven throughout the design, creating a rich, vibrant appearance that goes beyond simple color blocking.

And beyond the product launch, Apple said it’s backing its celebration of Black History Month with meaningful action. The company announced grants to several organizations working to inspire connection and promote creativity in under-resourced communities worldwide.
Grant recipients include Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney and Enactus México in Mexico City. These grants continue Apple’s ongoing commitment to advancing economic, educational and creative opportunities in communities around the globe.
Pricing and compatibility
The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is priced at $99. You can order it through the Apple Store online and the Apple Store app. If you prefer shopping in person, the band will arrive in physical Apple Store locations later this week, the iPhone giant said.
The band comes in two case sizes (42mm and 46mm) with band sizes ranging from 0-12. It fits Apple Watch Series 4 or later, all Apple Watch SE models and Apple Watch Ultra (46mm band only).
